Offering an opportunity for individuals to be Fair Housing Testers. LIHS is a nonprofit fair housing agency with openings for testers. Testers are considered per diem employees rather than employees. However, LIHS will train and pay volunteers Testers a stipend of $17.00 per hour plus travel expenses. Candidates must have the following qualifications: Must attend training session must be reliable must have reliable transportation Willing to work in Nassau & Suffolk Ability to follow instruction, follow through ability to write a report responsibly maintain communication honesty and objectivity and a clean record (no record or fraud convictions). LIHS needs conscientious people for this project.

Course offerings include: Blueprint Reading for the Construction Trades; OSHA 10-Hour for Construction Certification; OSHA 30-Hour for Construction Safety Certification and OSHA Bloodborne Pathogen Safety Certification. Offers career technical training in more than 100 career areas. Students receive housing, meals, basic health care, a living allowance, training, and preparation for a career.

Provides short, non-credit programs focused on helping unemployed, underemployed, and career changing individuals enter manufacturing careers (Welding, CNC/Machining, Industrial Maintenance Technician, BAS, HVAC etc.). Students who enter the programs do not need a high school diploma and the course fees are often entirely or partially covered by grants, scholarships and other funding sources. JCC Career Services will also support these students in their efforts to find a job. At the end of several programs, a workshop is held that leads students through resume building and interview skills. Workforce Development invites local manufacturing companies to interview students on campus at the end of some of the programs (welding, machining and industrial maintenance). Students have access to JCC Career Services for a year after the completion of their program.

United Way of Long Island’s Workforce Development Training Academy provides free hands-on training focused on creating a foundation and pathways to secure careers in the renewable energy industry for Long Islanders. Hands-on training is focused on clear, long-term career path development and complemented by online financial empowerment workshops. Power Up! Wind, Solar & Renewables graduates are proficient in the installation of clean heating and cooling technologies, high-efficiency HVAC, heat pumps, solar panels, and EV Charging. The training is open at no cost to youths, veterans, and others entering the job market.

Includes courses on the supervision of Peer Specialists. Tribal 477 provides HSED (formerly GED), training, career readiness workshops, vocational and classroom training, construction technology program, and work experience services for members of the Seneca Nation of Indians and other federally recognized Nations (and children of an enrolled Seneca father) residing 25 miles of the Cattaraugus, Allegany and Oil Springs territories.
