Prediabetes is a serious health condition where blood sugar levels are higher than normal, but not high enough yet to be diagnosed as type 2 diabetes. Approximately 84 million American adults have prediabetes. Of those with prediabetes, 90% don't know they have it. Diabetes Management Programs: Help people with diabetes to take control of their diabetes and live healthier lives. An expert diabetes team (Certified Diabetes Educator/RN, Registered Dietician, Health Educator, Pharmacist, etc.) teaches people what they need to know to feel better and help avoid complications of diabetes. A six-week workshop that helps participants learn or improve problem-solving and decision-making skills, enabling them to confront the challenges of living with diabetes. Participants learn to improve food choices, increase physical activity in an easy and effective way, and master coping skills to control their diabetes. Caregivers are also welcome.
