The Department works in conjunction with nursing, physicians and other healthcare professionals in developing individualized plans of care for our patients throughout the hospital.

Provides an inpatient psychiatry program for elementary-age students enabling them to continue their education while undergoing psychiatric treatment. Students are referred through parent or school referrals and admits youngsters, after thorough evaluation by social worker, psychologists and physicians. The length of stay ranges from 1-12 weeks, during which time a full academic curriculum is provided by Eastern Suffolk BOCES.

Nursing care and rehabilitation facility provides long and short term care for those in need of 24 hour nursing care due to chronic illness, injury or advancing age. Physical, occupational and speech therapies are provided, as well as respite and hospice care.

In-patient program designed for those who require skilled nursing care and/or rehabilitation after an acute admission. Patient must be under the supervision of professional or technical personnel, require services on a daily basis, and have had a 3 day acute admission prior to entering Swing Bed Program.

Offers sub-acute care as inpatient services that are more intensive than those typically received in skilled nursing facilities, but less invasive than acute care and at a more reasonable cost.

Provides a well-resourced 60-bed facility that provides patients and residents with 24-hour medical coverage and the assurance that emergency services are only a few steps away. With a highly trained patient-care team of expert therapists, rehabilitation specialists, nurses and support staff, the facility provides intensive, short-term care for patients recovering from surgery, illness or injury, as well as long-term care for those who can no longer manage their physical health at home. The Center accepts patients on referral from discharge planners at hospitals from throughout the Tri-State area, as well as direct referrals from primary care physicians.
