The Albany Medical Center South Clinical Campus South Surgery Center, patients have surgery, recuperate for several hours under the supervision trained professional staff members and may be able to return home the same day. In certain instances, a surgeon may decide that a patient's medical condition or surgical procedure warrants a longer stay. In that case, AMC South has an extended care monitoring unit for patients who require an extended stay. The in-patient rooms offer local telephone service and television at no extra charge.
