Albany Memorial Hospital provides healthcare services for patients in the community. This is a 165-bed community hospital. Albany Memorial offers acute care and ambulatory surgery and a range of services including emergency services, critical care, ambulatory surgery, diabetes management and care for congestive heart failure. Samaritan Hospital offers The Sexual Assault and Crime Victims Assistance program, provide specialized services to sexual assault survivors, their families and friends, as well as crime victims. Also offers a women's health center with mammogram services.

St. Mary's Hospital provides inpatient and outpatient health care.

In 1868, Albany Memorial Hospital opened its doors as the Albany City Free Dispensary providing care to patients unable to pay. Today, the 165-bed community hospital provides inpatient and outpatient care, as well as ambulatory surgery. This includes the Heart Program for congestive heart failure, Capital Region Diabetes & Endocrine Care, wound care, the Anticoagulation Management Clinic, the Pelvic Health Center and a state-of-the-art emergency department.
