Healthy Kids is a joint endeavor between Samaritan Hospital and Rensselaer County Department of Social Services This is a unique home visitation program. The program is voluntary and free to participants. Family support workers provide a range of services, including childbirth education, infant care and child development, family planning options, assistance with obtaining transportation, meal planning, and referral to community agencies.

The Maternal and Child Health goal is to improve the health of Warren County families with a particular focus on mothers, babies and children. Postpartum care and evaluation, newborn care, breastfeeding support, child health, health education parenting support and immunization.

Provides home visits to pregnant women, new mothers and fathers, and their children up to age 2 who reside in the City of Syracuse. Services include case management, health screenings and education about pregnancy, family planning, nutrition, baby care, growth and development, and other maternal child health topics.

Provides birthing beds and observation rooms for expectant mothers. Other services include information about pregnancy, labor, and delivery, sibling educational tours, and ultrasounds.

Functions with the purpose of making providers of medical specialities accessible locally. Currently offers services of specialists in nephrology, endocrinology, gastroenterology, general surgery, laproscopic surgery and nutrition. Also provides a neo-natal clinic.

265-bed full service community hospital offering emergency medicine, internal medicine, family practice, gastroenterology, neonatology, obstetrics and gynecology, oncology, general surgery and many surgery specialties such as breast cancer, colorectal, orthopedics, urology, and minimally invasive robotic surgery. Numerous outpatient services are available including x-ray, CT, MRI, mammography, non-invasive cardiac testing, chemotherapy infusion center, and childbirth education classes.

Maternity Center provides prenatal programs, baby care and safety courses, intensive care for premature newborns and those with health problems, full range of prenatal testing, classes in childbirth, Lamaze and breast feeding. The Center has its own entry and parking lot. An orientation for expectant parents is held every Saturday at 9am; call for reservations as space is limited.

Our board-certifies physicians are uniquely qualified to diagnose and treat infants, children and adolescents whose medical emotional health care needs differ from adults and requires specialized care.

Provides comprehensive rehabilitation services consisting of diagnostic, evaluative, and therapeutic services to children with known or suspected disabilities. Center also supports the Regional Perinatal Center of WNY, and the only Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in Western New York that has the full scope of pediatric subspecialists required to operate a Level III NICU. Each center or program is comprised of an interdisciplinary team of specialists specifically selected to meet patients' needs. This three hour program provides expectant women and their coaches (husband, boyfriend, mother, friend, etc.) with infant care education.
