Provides information and support to women during and after pregnancy. Services during pregnancy include prenatal education which focus on fetal growth, stages of labor, breastfeeding, etc. After birth services offered are postpartum home visits, weight and length check, breastfeeding help, referrals for other specialized needs, nutritional consults and dental care, and much more. Support services are available by telephone or a home visit.

Prepares parents for the first few days and weeks of breastfeeding. Topics include the benefits of breastfeeding, positioning, establishing a good milk supply, common problems, and returning to work.

Women's Maternity Services: Before Pregnancy Care, Prenatal Care, The Family Birth Place, Birthing Suites, Family Education Classes, Classes for the whole family, Expectant Parents. Classes are offered frequently throughout the year as either a five-part evening series or a one-day class. Sibling Preparation: "Let's Celebrate Big Brother-Big Sister" is a special monthly class designed to help children aged 3-10 understand the concept of a newborn. Post-partum Breastfeeding Classes and Counseling: Learn about the early weeks of breast-feeding, expressing and storing milk, nutrition and weight loss, and returning to work. Babies are welcome.

Provides education, support, and encouragement related to breastfeeding. Certified Lactation Counselors are on staff to help get breastfeeding off to the best start and answer any questions. Peer Counselors also available to help support throughout the breastfeeding journey.

Provides a variety of classes on topics related to childbirth, including the following. Prepared Childbirth: Provides tips to make pregnancy easier, along with facts about labor, delivery, and recovery at home. Discusses care for both mom and baby after leaving the hospital. A tour is included. Lamaze Focus: Geared towards parents who want additional focus on the Lamaze technique for natural child birth. Classes have four sessions and followed by a tour at Sisters. Covers all topics covered in the standard Prepared Childbirth classes. Prepared Cesarean Delivery: Covers what to expect for parents scheduled for a Cesarean Delivery. Covers all topics covered in the standard Prepared Childbirth classes, excluding focus on labor. Also provides discussion of recovery at home, pain control techniques, and questions about surgical delivery. Preparing to Breastfeed: A lactation consultant reviews common questions and concerns regarding the first weeks of breastfeeding. Both parents are welcome. Marvelous Multiples Classes: Intended to add to the childbirth classes for parents expecting more than one new arrival. Covers special concerns and special care of both mom and babies. Class offers more information about what is happening during pregnancy along with tips from moms who have been through pregnancies with multiple babies. Includes a tour of the NICU. Baby Talk: Intended to help reduce the stress of the first few weeks after childbirth. Focuses on newborn care, health concerns to watch for, and challenges faced by all new parents. Includes discussion time and practice time with lifelike dolls. Grandparents Classes: Covers new infant care, safety (especially car seat and sleep safety), supportive care for the new parents, and fun activities to prepare for the arrival of a precious grandchild. Infant and Child CPR/First Aid: Focuses on preparation for emergency situations. Covers how to respond if a child is choking, drowning, injured, or in need of CPR, with a focus on both infant and child age groups. Car Seat Safety: Provides a short safety presentation on car seat basics followed by an appointment for a one-on-one car seat fitting with a certified Child Passenger Safety technician. Parents should bring the car seat they will use so that it can be installed properly before leaving the hospital. The technician will assist with car seat installations for all kids, not just the new baby. Gestational Diabetes: Provides instruction on diabetes self-care and nutrition. Tours are available for all expectant parents. As space is limited, expectant parents should call to inquire at least a month before their due date. High Risk Pregnancies & Deliveries: Covers special concerns related to high risk pregnancies. The first three sessions cover medical care, what to do at home, and what to expect before and after delivery. The fourth session addresses neonatal intensive care and what parents should know about the possibility of their baby visiting the NICU before heading home.

Provides a supportive environment for breastfeeding mothers and their babies, along with free breast feeding support, resources, and one-on-one assistance from an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). Weekly drop-in support is available for both pregnant and breastfeeding moms through the Baby Cafe, which offers education, networking, and time for moms to share their breastfeeding experiences. Infant feeding class available several times a year at no cost.

Offers a support group for women who are currently or planning to breastfeed.

Provides birth control options, pregnancy testing, paternity tests, prenatal evaluation, and prenatal care. Also monitors for high-risk pregnancies which includes pregnant women with high blood pressure, diabetes, or other various issues which may cause risk. Offers childbirth and parenting courses for new and expectant parents. Participates in the Prenatal Care Assistance Program which helps low income women have a healthy prenatal experience.

Offers in-person breastfeeding support for qualifying residents up to two one (1) hour in-person visits by a trained breastfeeding support person. Funded in part by the Long Island Unitarian Universalist Fund.

Offers supervised meetings where you can share similar experiences in a comfortable, caring setting. Depending on your needs, some health care support groups assist with specific conditions and issues, while others are more general in nature. Some of our support groups include: Bereavement Support Group; Breast Cancer Support Group; Breastfeeding Support Group; Cancer Family Support Groups; Caregiver Support Group; Diabetes Support Group; Dialysis Support Group; Gastric Sleeve Support Group; Prostate Cancer Support Group and Stroke Support Group. Provides information for expectant mothers concerning breastfeeding. Discusses techniques, problems and continuing breastfeeding (after leaving the hospital). Classes are held on the 3rd Thursday of the month from 7-10pm. 1st Saturday of each month 9am-12pm. Please call for more information. P

Provides education, information, support, and encouragement to women who want to breastfeed. Nursing babies are welcome at the meetings. Also offers online forums.

The New York State Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC) provides breastfeeding support, nutrition counseling, health education, health care referrals, referrals to other services, and nutritious foods.

Rents hospital grade breast pumps on a weekly for monthly basis. Offers individual service and education of fitting and use by a health care professional.

Offers classes in child birth education, infant care, breastfeeding, and vaginal birth after cesarean.
