Healthy Kids is a joint endeavor between Samaritan Hospital and Rensselaer County Department of Social Services This is a unique home visitation program. The program is voluntary and free to participants. Family support workers provide a range of services, including childbirth education, infant care and child development, family planning options, assistance with obtaining transportation, meal planning, and referral to community agencies.

Provides comprehensive medical care, including acute and chronic care of pediatric and adult patients, physical examinations, health-related screening and immunizations, non-operative gynecological diagnosis and treatment, minor surgical procedures, and newborn care.

Offers a Well Women Clinic and a Sports and School Physicals Clinic.

The Cohoes Family Care MOMS Program is an educational program for pregnant women. Provided are pregnancy tests, assistance in completing Medicaid applications, access to prenatal and primary care, free childbirth and breastfeeding education, along with pregnancy and infant care education Also provided are referrals to community agencies as appropriate, such as WIC or the local Department of Health. Crisis counseling on issues such as domestic violence, child abuse and mental health issues is also provided.
