Hudson Valley Cancer Resource Center's website is a navigational tool for patients to locate national, regional and local services in the following areas: Financial Assistance, Co-Pay Assistance, Prescription Assistance, Breast Prostheses, Medical Supplies, Lodging During Treatment, Transportation: Air or Ground, Career and Cancer Assistance, Legal Assistance, and Insurance Assistance.

Provides long-term, affordable lodging for families with a child who is ill or injured and will be receiving medical treatment, far from home.

Offers temporary housing and case care management to men, 18 and older, with substance abuse issues. Provides referrals to local out-patient substance abuse providers and support services. Offers self-help groups, employment assistance and treatment/rehabilitation programming focused on the spiritual aspects of recovery.

Provides free, temporary sleeping accommodations for cancer patients and one caregiver, undergoing treatment in New York City. This lodge has 61 comfortable guest suites, with access to communal kitchens, activity rooms, and services.

Provides treatment and residential services to individuals living with a serious mental illness and possible co-occurring disorders such as alcohol and chemical addictions or chronic medical conditions.

Albany Medical Center's Patient Relations Department will assist families in finding temporary housing while their family member is undergoing treatment.

Provides a unique private-public partnership that supports America's military in their time of need. The program recognizes the special sacrifices of our men and women in uniform and the hardships of military service by meeting a humanitarian need beyond that normally provided by the Department of Defense and Veterans Affairs. The Foundation, a nonprofit organization. has constructed 65 "comfort homes" at military bases and VA Medical Centers across the country and overseas, in Germany, for families of hospitalized military personnel and veterans. The program aids more than 12,000 guest families each year and has saved families more than $150 million since inception.

To offer safe, home-like housing for patients' families during medical care in the Triple Cities: Lourdes Hospital, (UHS) Wilson Hospital, and Binghamton General Hospital, local nursing homes, Broome Developmental Center, and Greater Binghamton Health Center. Also serves out-patients seeking respite or housing during treatment phases of medical care.

On-going programs include: Children's Housing (both hospital and retreat) and Hands on Adventures.

Provides a place of respite for families with hospitalized children within the Bernard & Miller Duker Children's Hospital at Albany Medical Center. Offers snacks, coffee, bagged lunches, games, books, and a television available for all visitors.

Providers 27 Hope Lodges across the nation that offer cancer patients and their families a free, temporary place to stay when treatment may be in another city.

Provides transitional housing for those re-entering the community from inpatient hospitalization and/or for those who have not benefited from traditional residential or supportive housing programs. Provides case management, information and referral, transportation, benefit advisement, on-call and after hours support, advocacy, and support groups via a multi-unit apartment building and the drop-in center. Offers short-term respite with goal of preventing crisis and hospital diversion.

Offers a respite program in conjunction with NYS Medicaid benefits to help families with children with medical needs that require respite care.

Provides financial assistance to reduce lead-based paint hazards in privately owned, residential structures throughout Onondaga County. Common repairs provided by the program include new windows, doors, and siding.

Offers lodging options for cancer patients who are traveling to receive medical care related to their cancer diagnosis. Call or go online for eligibility and availability.

Provides a temporary "home-away-from-home" for patients and families of patients who travel to Glens Falls to access medical care.

Provides free supportive housing for families with children facing serious illness and injury receiving care at nearby hospitals. Offers 25 private guests rooms, hot meals served daily, space for children and families to relax and play. Provides families with shuttle runs between Rconald McDonald House and Albany Medical Center.

Provies a 5-day getaway for families affected by serious childhood illness. Services include a host, a stocked pantry, and opportunities to enjoy the nearby village attractions to further gain strength and bond as a family.

Westmoreland House (Located 5 minutes away from Golisano Children's Hospital): 24 private rooms with full bathroom, cooking and laundry facilities, fitness room, free meals, snacks and play areas. House within The Hospital (Located within Strong Memorial Hospital connected to Golisano Children's Hospital: 7 private rooms with full bathroom, laundry facilities, living room, free meals and snacks. Family Room (Located in the lobby level of Golisano Children's Hospital at Strong): Laundry room, shower, beverages, healthy snacks and fresh-baked goods available. Family Room (Located on the first floor of Unity Hospital across from the gift shop): Respite space includes beverages and healthy snack. Includes 2 overnight rooms for families. Family Lounge (Located on the 3rd floor at Rochester General Hospital): Coffee, cold beverages, healthy snacks and fresh-baked goods available. Mental Health and Wellness Family Room: Laundry facilities, cold beverages, healthy snacks, fresh-baked goods with daily access to the House within the Hospital and showering area near the Family Room.
