Provides information, demonstration, and referral for assistive technology devices and services in WNY. Short term equipment loans available. Technology includes toys for children with developmental delays. Service is also available to seniors who could benefit from assistive technology to maintain their independence. Medicaid Waiver program will purchase any devices necessary.

Offers low interest loans for the purchase of essential equipment necessary for disabled person to overcome barriers to daily living or vocational functioning following rehabilitation. Loans range from $500-$4000 with a repayment period of 2-8 years and the interest rate will vary. Examples of eligible equipment include, but are not limited to, wheelchairs, wheelchair van lifts, ramps, communication devices for hearing impaired/deaf, and prostheses.

Provides assistive technology loans up to $30,000 for hearing and vision aids, communication devices, environmental adaptions, wheelchairs, and home or vehicle modifications.

Provides a Loan Closet with durable medical equipment, communication devices, wheelchairs, and other similar equipment, for anyone with a muscular disease. Also helps with payment assistance for repairs of assisitive equipment. Accepts donations of medical equipment which apply to those who with muscular diseases, especially communication devices and wheelchairs, and large durable medical equipment.

Offers support services to ALS patients and their families through home visits, counseling, transportation to ALS centers, respite care, and an assistive technology loan closet.

Offers a wide variety of information resources which are made available to the community. This program gives parents, teachers and caseworkers toys and computer programs for a one month period for use by handicapped children.

Allows handicapped residents to borrow items such as walkers, cane, wheelchair, and potty wheelchair at no cost. Provides applications to purchase expensive equipment.

Lends hospital equipment, i.e. hospital beds, wheelchairs, crutches, walkers, commodes, canes and other sick room supplies free of charge to residents of Sayville, West Sayville, Oakdale, Bohemia, Holbrook, and Bayport.

Services include case management, information and referral, recreation, assistive technology, respite, and outpatient rehabilitation for people with developmental disabilities.

Provides free loans of assistive technology. Assistive technology is any device that can be used to improve the functional abilities of people with disabilities or short-term injuries. Available items include wheelchairs, walkers, Rollators, canes, crutches, ramps, grab bars, Hoyer lifts, adaptive seating, shower chairs, commodes, wander alarms, weighted items, adaptive utensils, laptops, iPads and deaf and blind/low vision technology. We also have learning aids, toys and games for early intervention, as well as pediatric equipment. Free delivery may be available.

Loans out items such as toys, puppets, adapted equipment, books, videos, and cassette tapes for children, parents, and service providers. Appropriate items are available for all development stages from infancy through age five. ###DD###

Provides assistive technology (AT) services including evaluations, training, consultation, and device demonstrations for individuals with disabilities of all ages, families, counselors, therapists, teachers, agencies, and other interested consumers. Training available in assistive computer software, hardware, and AT devices for individuals, schools, and adults. Also offers work site assessments and environmental control assessments. Community based service group which lends sick room equipment such as wheelchairs, walkers, crutches, bath seats, commodes, bedside tables, etc, to residents of the Three Village School District. Contact is made by phone and answering machine.

Provides a wide range of durable medical equipment free of charge to people with neuromuscular diseases and are also registered with the Association.

Loan program to assist disabled residents of New York essential adaptive equipment.

Offers Braille, large print books, described videocassettes, decoders, low-vision aids, and other materials for loan. Also has a reading machine for the blind and adaptive computer equipment for in-library use. Provides demonstrations and training for all special technologies.

AT (Assistive Technology) is an item, piece of equipment, or product system used to increase, maintain, or improve functional capabilities of individual with disabilities. Loan closet includes wide range of items, devices and equipment, such as: large-handle eating utensils, handheld video magnifier, electronic magnifying glass, computer mouse controlled by head movement.

Provides special technology for area students with physical and learning disabilities. Includes various software, courseware, and hardware to meet the multiple learning needs of people with physical, sensory, or learning limitation and disabilities.

Helpline consultants available to assist individuals adapt to the changes they may be experiencing, as they go through life-long process of adjusting their lifestyle to best suit their changing needs.

Provides adaptive equipment for short-term loan including wheelchairs, portable ramps, transfer benches, assistive listening devises, assistive speaking devices, canes, and walkers.

TRAID (Technology Related Assistance for Individuals with Disabilities) Center shows how technology-from simple homemade gadgets to computer systems-can make people more independent. We have items on display for people to try, we offer demonstrations of equipment, and can tell people how to get what they need. STIC also offers short-term loan of equipment and assistive technology including: wheelchairs, TTYs, walkers, tub seats, commodes, portable ramps, and much more. Some items may be given away if we have an excess.

Provides Technology Related Assistance for Individuals with Disabilities (TRAID) to help provide information, borrowing, and referral services to help improve people's access to assistive technology equipment and services.
