Offers a dynamic facility where faculty, staff and students evaluate and treat communication disorders in infants, children and adults. The Speech Center offers both evaluation and treatment services in the areas of speech, language and hearing primarily by student clinicians from the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders. The Center is staffed with licensed and experienced professionals, certified by the American Speech Language and Hearing Association who work closely with the student clinicians. Offers diagnostic and treatment services to children and adults for a variety of communication disorders. All clinical services are supervised by professional speech-language pathologists and audiologists who hold certification by the American Speech-Language Hearing Association. Speech-language pathology services include: Comprehensive evaluations of communication including speech, language and literacy; Language therapy: spoken and written language; Articulation therapy; Voice therapy; Treatment of stuttering; Treatment of myofunctional disorders, swallowing and related functions; Treatment of cognitive-communication disorders and Consultation regarding Augmentative/Alternate Communication. In addition communication enhancement services are offered to: Improve English-language proficiency and Modify accent. Audiology services include: Audiological evaluations and screenings; Hearing aid evaluations, including fitting and dispensing; Central auditory processing evaluations and Aural rehabilitation services. Additional specialty clinics include: Speaking of Toddlers and The Aphasia Program. Some community-based projects include: Language stimulation groups at the Saltzman Community Services Center's Diane Lindner-Goldberg Child Care Institute (CCI) and Language-literacy support program at an area elementary school. Provides routine hearing evaluations as well as a Hearing Conservation Clinic to help prevent Noise Induced Hearing Loss (NIHL) in soldiers.

Provides assistance in filling out forms, as well as information and referral. Offers portal to portal transportation for medical appointments and limited groceries. Also offers hot nutritious lunches, recreational activities, educational and health programs (including blood pressure, hearing, and cholesterol screenings), and organized trips (both day and overnight). Monthly bulletin available by request. Mayor's discount card available for all seniors 55 and older; must be used in the city only.

Offers on site Comprehensive Audiological Services: newborn hearing screening, diagnostic ABR/ASSR, VRA and behavioral audiometry, immitance testing, pediatric hearing aid fitting and programming/BAHA services, pediatric cochlear implant mapping, and device troubleshooting and repair. Offers Infant/Toddler and Preschool Educational Programming, including everyday listening strategies for the home; parent involvement based on auditory verbal principles; natural conversations as the basis of communication; weekly interaction with hearing peers; individualized speech and language therapy services; and integrated programs that include occupational therapy, physical therapy and other related services as needed. Provides newborn care, breastfeeding support, well child visits, school and sports physicals, sick visits, mental health and ADHD treatment, family planning for teens, STI testing, developmental screenings, hearing screenings, vision screenings, and the Reach Out & Read free book program.

Serves the community while providing students with on-site clinical training while providing a full range of diagnostic and therapy services in both speech-language pathology and audiology. Services are coordinated by full-time supervisory staff. All supervisors hold ASHA certification and NYS licensure. Assistive hearing devices also available for almost half of market price.The Center is a part of the Department of Communication Disorders and operates on a not-for-profit basis. Members of the community are charged nominal fees for the services available at the Center.

Provides a full complement of audiological evaluation and consultation services that is available to support the education of students with hearing loss, either in-district or in an Eastern Suffolk BOCES setting. In addition to full audiological evaluations, follow-up, parent and staff training, Eastern Suffolk BOCES offers a full spectrum of services to support the use of Frequency Modulation (FM) auditory trainers, including needs assessment evaluations, selection and ordering, equipment adjustments, summer maintenance, ear molds, training workshops, and review of district equipment.

Offers evaluation and treatment for children and adults who have been identified has having possible speech and hearing difficulties, due to a variety of reasons.

Offers an interdisciplinary approach to diagnosis and treatment of hearing and communication disorders for children and young adults. Provides a comprehensive program of screening, otolaryngologic and developmental exams, process function testing, speech/language evaluation, prescribes hearing aids if needed, and psychological/ educational assessment.

Provides evaluation and treatment for adults and children for speech, language, communication and hearing disorders.

Mainstreamed hearing impaired students are eligible for this complete language oriented, academic support program in their home schools. Based upon individual need, certified teachers of the deaf provide intensive language development, auditory training, speech correction, lip reading and academic tutoring program as well as sign language, manual alphabet and lip reading. This service is coordinated with the curriculum thus, requiring close cooperation with the teacher in the home school.

Provides complete diagnostic hearing tests and screenings, hearing aid evaluations, fitting and sales, for individuals with all degrees of hearing loss, infant hearing assessments, auditory brainstem response testing, tinnitus assessment and treatment, and also operates a mobile hearing unit to do testing in the community.

Services include hearing testing (pediatric and adult) and fittings for hearing devices.
