WILLCARE is a registered and licensed nursing available 24/7 to provide a variety of skilled nursing services, include in-home or in-facility health assessments, administration of medications, teaching, treatments, catheter insertion and enteral feeding.

Mainstreamed hearing impaired students are eligible for this complete language oriented, academic support program in their home schools. Based upon individual need, certified teachers of the deaf provide intensive language development, auditory training, speech correction, lip reading and academic tutoring program as well as sign language, manual alphabet and lip reading. This service is coordinated with the curriculum thus, requiring close cooperation with the teacher in the home school.

Evaluation of home environment to determine ways to make the home safer with less fall risks, and makes recommendations for ramps, rails, furniture placement, etc., for safety and to help the elderly stay in their home.

Offers hearing services for students attending local district programs who have hearing disorders or central auditory processing disorders and include the following: Audiological Evaluations are provided for students with hearing impairment. Evaluations include pure tone audiometry and tympanometry. The following can be included in the evaluation for an additional fee: aided testing with hearing aids, hearing test with student wearing hearing aids; aided testing with FM unit, and hearing test with student wearing FM unit; FM Evaluations include an initial FM evaluation that provides a hearing test to determine the appropriate FM unit for the student. Calibration of the FM unit is included in this service; Earmolds (FM Amplification are provided for students who require FM amplification and are made by audiologists who individualize this equipment to meet the student's needs; Central Auditory Processing Evaluation provided for students, who are seven years and older, with normal hearing and intelligence who have an impaired ability to attend, discriminate, recognize or comprehend auditory information. The Central Auditory Processing Evaluation includes: a peripheral audiological evaluation; tests of speech recognition in quiet and noise; testing to assess central auditory processing disorders, including but not limited to dichotic listening tests, distorted speech, speech in noise, and temporal ordering tasks; and an evaluation report; FM Amplification Trial is designed to assist district personnel in determining if low gain amplification could benefit students who have been diagnosed with: mild hearing loss; fluctuating middle ear hearing loss; learning disabilities involving auditory deficits; and sensorineural hearing loss. To determine if a student can benefit from such amplification, trial use of equipment is available. This includes provision of equipment for one month; in-service workshops for staff on proper use of equipment; classroom management techniques; and pre- and post-data using standardized checklists of auditory behaviors; FM Equipment Services provide for the rental of FM equipment for one month when it is necessary for a district to provide short term use of this equipment and in-service workshops are not needed. If FM equipment is not working properly, the unit can be brought to the BOCES Audiological Center at the Rosemary Kennedy Center, Room 1301G. A computerized evaluation of the unit will be provided and simple repairs, when possible, can be made and Consultant Services include in-service consultation provided to assist district staff in meeting the needs of students with either hearing impairment or central auditory processing disorders. Provides psychiatric medication management for ages 5-100. Genetic testing available to find the right medication metabolized. Participants cannot have a criminal history, violent history or sex addiction.

The Childrenâs Rehabilitation Center is an outpatient pediatric diagnostic and treatment center that provides comprehensive medical and rehabilitative services to children ages birth to 21-years-old with complex physical and developmental disabilities throughout Westchester, Putnam, Rockland, Dutchess and Orange Counties and the Bronx. The Childrenâs Rehabilitation Center is located on the same site as the White Plains campus of the John A. Coleman School.Services include: physical, occupational, speech and language pathology, aquatic and feeding therapies. Medical specialties include, but are not limited to: orthopedics, physiatry, ophthalmology, neurology, neonatology, pediatrics and audiology. In addition, brace, orthotic and adaptive equipment clinics, psychological and social work services, and Care at Home case management services are provided.

Osteoporosis Center provides care in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of osteoporosis. Specialized exercise program, bone densitometry and research programs available. Offers educational seminars and support groups in Rockland and Westchester.

Provides comprehensive treatment for patients of all ages with Lysomal Storage Diseases, such as Gaucher Disease, Pompe Disease, Fabry Disease, and Mucopolysaccharide Storage Diseases. Provides all the components of care for patients and their families from initial consultation, testing and diagnosis to follow-up and treatment as well as genetic counseling, carrier screening and prenatal diagnosis.

Offers food assistance, nutrition education, and health screening with referrals to human service agencies to low income pregnant, postpartum, and breastfeeding women and their children up to age 5.

A volunteer movement to promote awareness within communities of the benefits of heart and lung surgical and medical procedures offered at Deborah Heart and Lung Center in Browns Mills, New Jersey. 55 chapters in the region solely support the Heart and Lung Center. Additional chapters are Florida/Puerto Rico, New Jersey/Pennsylvania Mid-Atlantic regions.

Offers services and testing for those who have HIV or an STI. Knowing your status helps you make health decisions to prevent getting or transmitting HIV or STIs. Treatment is available; it is important to start treatment as soon as possible after diagnosis to improve your overall health and decrease the risk of spreading illness to others. Confidential testing and treatment options are available at many local health care facilities, including community partners. Nassau County Department of Health offers services to persons with HIV or other STIs and their sexual or needle-sharing partners. Partner Services works with people to plan the best way to notify their sex and needle-sharing partners about their exposure to an STI or HIV. Partner Services is voluntary and confidential. In addition the Department of Health offers Ryan White HIV Services. The Ryan White Care Act is a federally funded grant to provide services for people living with HIV/AIDS in Nassau & Suffolk counties.
