Offers a voluntary developmental evaluation and services program offered by New York State and administered locally by the Nassau County Department of Health Office for Children with Special Needs. To be eligible for EI services, children must be under 3 years of age and have a confirmed disability or established developmental delay, as defined by New York State, in one or more of the following areas of development: physical, cognitive, communication, social-emotional, and/or adaptive. Evaluations are conducted to determine eligibility. A variety of therapeutic and support services are offered to eligible infants and toddlers with disabilities and their families. Major provisions of the program include: Identification and referral of children at risk or suspected of disability by primary referral sources; Periodic developmental screening and tracking of at risk children; Service coordination for eligible children and families; A multidisciplinary evaluation provided at no cost to parents to determine eligibility; Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSPs) for eligible children and families; Provision of early intervention services in the IFSP at no cost to parents and Delivery of services in natural settings in the community where children of the same age are typically found, to the maximum extent appropriate. Victim-centered, compassionate medical and forensic care in a private setting for rape and sexual assault survivors. Free physical examination with an injury assessment, collection of forensic evidence and appropriate prophylaxis medications provided by specially trained medical professionals. Victim Information Bureau of Suffolk (VIBS) will provide accompaniment by a rape crisis counselor for emotional support during the exam and follow-up by the SANE Liaison for counseling resources, medical and legal advocacy.

Diagnostic and Treatment Center offers primary medical services as well as psychiatric and psychological, podiatry, physical, speech and occupational therapy, audiology, dental, dermatology, endocrinology, gynecology, neurology, nutrition, optometry, and physiatry to individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities, mental illness, those who have been dually diagnosed and/or those with traumatic brain injury.

Offers services including: Diagnostic evaluations, primary care, medical, dental, orthopedic, physiatry, neurology, optometry, podiatry, gynecology, psychiatry, psychology, social work, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, audiology, and rehabilitative services, which includes wheelchair evaluations, seating and mobility, pressure mapping, orthotics, splinting, augmentative communication, power mobility training and computer access.

Offers multidisciplinary treatment to children and adolescents with Anorexia Nervosa or Bulimia Nervosa . Provides comprehensive diagnostic evaluation and plans individualized treatment program. Offers outpatient treatment involving professional patient monitoring nutritional counseling and individual and family psychotherapy. Also offers in-patient treatment, where appropriate, involving intensive treatment in a highly structured environment and a day program attended by patients 8am-6pm Monday through Friday, with treatment intensity comparable to treatment of hospitalized patients. Treatment approach addresses the biopsychosocial needs of patients.

Physiatrists and rehabilitation nurses help patients manage or improve their lung and respiratory conditions. Provides comprehensive care to cystic fibrosis patients from infancy to adulthood. Offers a holistic and family focused approach to patient care with an emphasis on promoting normal physical and emotional growth and development. Goals include slowing the progression of the disease, prevention and treatment of complications and helping the patients integrate the disease and strenuous medical treatments into daily life. Provides a home care program. Parent support groups are available on a as needed basis.

Services include gynecological (GYN) exams, contraception (methods to prevent pregnancy), pregnancy testing and counseling, and nutrition education. Women can get pap tests, pelvic exams and breast exams. STI (sexually transmitted infections) testing and treatment, and HIV counseling and testing is offered for men and women.
