Protects the lives and property of the community by providing services in the event of fire, medical emergencies, and disasters or any other event which may threaten the public welfare. Offers training programs to cover all aspects of firefighting, fire safety, fire rescue, and other associated first responder skills and techniques.

The Lyme Prevention Program provides public education about Lyme disease.

Aims to serve sick children who have the most critical needs for a healing environment, who will benefit physically and emotionally from the healing elements used to transform the child's room, and whose parents lack the economic resources to create this environment for their child.

Offers trainings and education to families, parent-to-parent support, and advocacy assistance. Provides funding to families for respite, therapeutic recreational activities, summer camps, specialized adaptive equipment, home modifications, and emergency services.

* Administers a 12 station center for chronic dialysis patients who receive treatments 3 times per week.

Presents programs designed to improve eating habits and to help participants gain a better view of the need for recommended vitamins and other nutrients. Questions and answers are part of the presentations and cooking demonstrations are occasionally included.

Offers 25 private guests rooms, hot meals served daily, space for children and families to relax and play. Provides services to infants and toddlers from birth to age 3 who have developmental delays and disabilities. Services include speech therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, and special instruction.

Those in recovery or seeking recovery; family and friends of those in recovery; those who have lost someone to addiction. The Center belongs to the community. It is open to everyone and there is no cost. Rehabilitation is one of the most complex and specialized fields in all of medicine. Not all physical rehabilitation programs are the same. Choosing the right place and the right course of therapy after a disabling injury or illness can be a critical decision. Inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation services are available.

Processes applications for a variety of public health insurance programs, including Medicaid for certified disabled individuals, individuals ages 65 or older, prenatal care services (presumptive eligibility), Medicaid buy-in for Working People with Disabilities, and the Medicare Savings Program. Screens individuals to determine if they need to apply for Medicaid through the NYS Health Benefit Exchange. Processes Medicaid applications for individuals seeking help paying for nursing home or long term home health care services.

The Eddy was founded in 1928 and today is a nationally recognized network of predominantly senior programs and services providing care to individuals in 22 counties. The Eddy's comprehensive and innovative programs help maximize independence, quality of life and dignity through adult day services, Alzheimer's care, home care, independent senior living, enriched housing/assisted living, rehabilitation, skilled nursing care, respite services, a Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE), and end-of-life care.
