The Incorporated Village of Hempstead’s Fire Department provides fire protection and fire extinguishing services, initiating life rescue, rendering emergency medical assistance, controlling hazardous material situation including weapons of mass destruction incidents and providing related emergency services.

Courses offered at various sites. Corporate classes also available. Installs smoke alarms and provides in-home emergency planning assistance.

The program includes a free in-home safety assessment along with product demonstrations and free safety supplies. There are no income requirements. This is not an enforcement program.
