Can help parents locate child care that meets their individual needs. Provides information regarding licensed day care centers, licensed group family day care homes, registered family child care, and registered school-age child care programs. Information available includes the location of the provider, days and hours of operation, phone number, and the type of child care program. Can supply information on becoming a registered or licensed family child care provider. Technical assistance, support, and training is available to help in the operation of child care programs. Health and safety items are available to assist in starting a family child care business and also available to existing registered family and licensed group family child care providers. Training necessary to maintain child care registration or license is offered. Registrar of all family child care and school-age child care programs in Niagara County.

Pratt Willert Community Center - CAO

Community center. Serves as a senior meal site (see Hours below). Provides AARP Defensive Driving courses. Offers a summer program and numerous after-school programs and activities, including NURTURE Academy. NURTURE (Neighborhoods United for Restoration Teaching Upliftment Recreation & Education) Academy is an afterschool program that can help improve the academic performance of school-aged youth in grades K-8. The program’s foundation is centered on four key clubs: Reading, Culture, Debate, and Drama. Students also participate in character education, arts and crafts, and recreational activities that assist in their social development. HOURS: Monday-Friday, 9am-9pm. Senior Meals: Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday, 10am-2pm. Summer program runs from July through mid-August. NURTURE Academy starts in September.

Environmental Health Division - Chautauqua County Health Department

Conducts property transfer surveys which includes bacteriological water analysis and testing of on-site waste water treatment systems. Regulates all public water supplies as defined by Part 5 of the NYS Sanitary Code. Oversees cooling tower registry and reviews water testing results. Investigates special issues including rabies, radon, nuisance complaints, smoking in public, emergencies related to Public Health, West Nile Virus/Eastern Equine Encephalitis, mosquito vector surveillance, and control measures as warranted. Provides free rabies clinics for dogs, cats and domesticated ferrets in various locations throughout the year. Call or go online to find locations and register. Responsible for food service establishment permitting, education, and inspection. Oversees permitting and enforces the NYS Sanitary Code for Bathing Beaches, Children Camps, Swimming Pools, Temporary Residences, Tanning Salons, and Tattoo and Piercing Parlors. Investigates and oversees the abatement of lead-based paint hazards in dwellings where children under 6 years of age resides.
