Accepts cats, kittens, dogs and puppies for adoption and offers low to no cost spay/neuter and vaccination services for the public. Seeks to protect and preserve natural habitat which is home to a variety of plant and wildlife including waterfowl, osprey and white-tailed deer. Preserve also offers 50 miles of hiking, horseback riding (by annual permit), cross country skiing and nature trails, as well as fly fishing (with permit). The 32 mile Long Island Greenbelt Trail passes through the preserve. A museum and gift shop are also part of the preserve.
