An educational program that uses engaging strategies to reinforce lessons taught in the classroom. Through the use of our trails and natural landscape features, and interactions with the animals under our care, students have experiences that grow their appreciation and empathy for nature. This increases scientific curiosity and long-term retention of complex topics. Wild Science incorporates all subjects and skill sets, ensuring students have a complete hands-on learning experience.

Conducts workshops on parrot care featuring live pet birds, a Powerpoint presentation and free informational handouts. Offers programs for children-senior citizens, potential and current bird owners. Call for additional information.

Provides shelter and care to injured, abused, lost and abandoned animals before finding them a new home through adoption. Helps reunite families with lost pets. Keeps potentially dangerous animals off the streets, provides dog control for the City of Buffalo. Offers help trapping and removing nuisance animals in addition to rodent control. Also exterminates pests that are on city property. Volunteer opportunities available.

Provides hiking, cross-country skiing, nature trails, fishing(freshwater and fly), refuge for wildlife, environmental educational programs and a place for people to develop an awareness and appreciation of the natural world. Events include junior angler fishing clinics and casting clinics.

Grows seed clams, oysters and bay scallops for the enhancement/restoration of natural shellfish populations in local town and New York State waters. Offers public education on the importance of shellfish through facility and site tours. Also offers to the public oyster gardening opportunities.

Provides detailed environmental analysis of all proposed projects and makes specific recommendations to the Town Board. Develops and implements environmental improvement and protection projects including erosion control, wildlife habitat improvement, drainage projects, shellfish seeding programs, woodland restoration, and public awareness programs on the need for recycling.

We work to support birds and preserve local wildlife and their habitats on our unique and biodiverse North Fork, and beyond.
