The New York State Department of Health, AIDS Institute has lead responsibility for coordinating state programs, services and activities relating to HIV/AIDS, sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) and hepatitis C.

Staff assists with information or makes inspections if local fire departments cannot provide service.

Provides energy audits to eligible owners and renters in order to find the best way to make homes energy efficient. Weatherization measures include furnace repair or replacement, insulation, and air sealing to make residences safe, comfortable and less expensive to heat. Offering energy conservation measures to people from all income levels.

Provides emergency medical services, pre-hospital care, and transportation to a hospital facility as part of a coordinated EMS system. Provides emergency rescue operations and/or lifesaving activities for individuals who are stranded or lost, accident victims, or those exposed to other life-threatening dangers.

Performs annual inspection and testing of all scales, gas pumps and other weighing or measuring devices used for retail services. Investigates consumer complaints related to improper weighing or measuring.

Offers a continuum of training and educational opportunities for professionals who work with young children. On-site trainings can be scheduled for groups at their workplace. Offerings range from entry-level training to classes leading to the CDA and NYS SACC credentials.

TCCPI is a climate action and clean energy coalition made up of community leaders and activists from the education, business, local government, and nonprofit sectors. It has three main goals:1. Collaboration to achieve significant reductions in greenhouse gas emissions in Tompkins County and the City of Ithaca.2. Creation of a peer-to-peer mentoring network that provides mutual support among the participants in addressing the problems and challenges involved in meeting the climate goals of the County and City.3. Support development of the tools necessary for the community to monitor its progress through effective data collection and analysis, thus promoting transparency and accountability.

Offers a variety of workshops on classroom violence prevention and child safety education for students in Kindergarten through 12th grade. Workshops are targeted for specific grade levels and held in small classroom settings. Topics include Internet safety, bullying, child abuse prevention, sexual harassment awareness and prevention and date/acquaintance rape awareness and prevention. Call for more information.

Offers clothing, diapers, formula, strollers, cribs, car seats, etc, to parents who are in need. Call to see what is available. Baby gear is sometimes available, but clothing, diapers, and formula are always in stock. Primarily a services for teen parents, but open to all.

Provides licensed and registered child care providers caring for children birth to 3 years old with technical assistance, training and appropriate resources.
