National Achievers Society (NAS), is an academic honor society recognizing the achievements of youth of color from throughout Long Island. Annually, NAS accepts applications from Long Island youth in grades 3 to 12. In order to receive induction into the National Achievers Society, applicants must:
Make all As & Bs in school
Be involved in school or community service
Obtain two letters of recommendation
Submit an essay on “Why Achievement Matters”
The NAS reduces the negative peer pressure associated with academic achievement and makes “doing the right thing” cool again.
