Provides scholarships for Buffalo public and charter school students to attend college (certificate programs, 2-year and 4-year degree programs). Scholarships cover up to 100% of the tuition at any college or university in SUNY/CUNY system or at nearly 100 private colleges and universities after Federal, State, and institutional tuition aid has been applied.

Provides financial support to college students in Western New York in the form of specialized loans, grants, and/or scholarships. Funds are obtained through proceeds from an annual book sale and generous donors. Funds include several named awards.

Scholarships are awarded through colleges that offer accreditation by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education and/or the Board of Regents of the University of the State of New York and/or the Council for the Accreditation of Counseling and Related Programs (CACREP).

Operates programs to benefit veterans and members of their families. Benefits include compensation payments for disabilities or death related to military service, pensions, education and training, home loan, burial and a medical care program incorporating nursing homes, clinics, and medical centers. Suffolk offers priority registration for military-connected students, helping you secure the classes and schedules you need. Scholarship Awards are made in two areas: academic and enrichment. Academic and enrichment scholarships awarded to support eligible youth. Community service grants are made to youth-serving agencies and schools that are mentoring a group of 7th-12th grade youth on a community service project. A Youth Advisory Board, led by teen volunteers from Long Island schools, works with United Way to review all applications and make scholarship award recommendations.

Offer all the resources necessary for our veteran and active military students to achieve their collegiate goals. The Veteran Resource Center is here to do just that, by assisting Adelphi’s veterans, active duty military students and related community. Active, reserve and veteran military students using Post-9/11 G.I. Bill benefits or any other veterans affairs program benefits can apply and enroll in any of our associate, bachelor’s, certificate, master’s or doctoral programs, and you will have access to our many resources that are available. Grants, scholarships and awards come from several sources, including the college, New York State and the Federal government. Other sources include funding from corporations, unions, trust funds, religious and fraternal organizations, and other associations. Grants, scholarships and awards do not have to be paid back.

You can take courses where it best suits you: Online, at our campuses in Brooklyn and on Long Island, or at a military installation Fort Hamilton in Brooklyn, Fort Wadsworth on Staten Island, the Jones Beach Coast Guard Station in Freeport, SFO Moriches in East Moriches and the Shinnecock Coast Guard Station in Hampton Bays. If you are, or have been, part of the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force or Coast Guard, your benefits can help you earn a private college degree at St. Joseph's College at little or no cost to you. SJC offers a special tuition rate of $250 per credit for service members (active duty, guard and reserve) enrolled for up to 10 credits. This amount is covered by Tuition Assistance (TA). Helps eligible New York State residents pay tuition at approved schools in New York State. Depending on the academic year in which you begin study, an annual TAP award can be up to $5,165. Because it is a grant, it does not have to be paid back.

Offers veterans admissions counseling, benefits and resources through the Student Veterans Organization (SVO). The SVO serves as a one-stop-shop for student veterans, addressing their specific academic and co-curricular needs.
