Assigns counselors to work with students throughout their EOC experience. Works collaboratively with students, teachers, and other agencies to develop students academically, personally, and socially. Job and college placement are an integral part of the counseling component.

Serves part-time students and working adults interested in pursuing degrees by taking courses during evening, online or at the Syracuse campus. Offers a variety of courses and subjects, both credit bearing and non-credit bearing. Also offers Summer and Winter session courses, which provide opportunities to take accelerated courses outside of the standard fall and spring semesters.

* Facilitates meetings between caregivers and their children to work with a Hillside Family Peer Advocate. * Parent education opportunities including active parenting, support groups, and a variety of informational workshops that help increase social connections. * Access to mental health services with an on-site clinician. * Referrals to other community-based services including substance use treatment; mental health services; Women, Infant & Children (WIC) supports; domestic violence supports; food banks; SSI;day care; housing; employment opportunities; and recreational activities. * Support that allows families to accomplish personal goals such as furthering their education and finding job/internship opportunities. * Support for youth and families in achieving success in school, as needed. * Offers monthly family activities offered on-site or in the community.

InSight Shop - full service non-optical store, offering adaptive devices, visual aids, talking watches & clocks, cooking aids, large print items, frames, magnifiers, lighting, and adapted toys for sale. Vision Rehabilitation/adaptive skills training for activities of daily living. Orientation and mobility travel training. Social work/case management services. Support groups available - 3rd TU of month 10:00AM-12:00PM. Delivers basic literacy courses to out-of-school youth between 18-21. Instruction is provided in reading, writing, mathematics and the development of English speaking, listening and writing skills. This program also provides for an assessment and support services program to help young adults plan for future employment. Call for more detailed information.

After school program that focuses on academics, life skills, and career and college exploration. Teens participate in classroom and group lessons in a safe environment. Summer program is for 6 weeks and during the six week period, Monday-Thursday (or four days a week), the students work at the designated internship site and Fridays (or 1 day a week) the students work on life skills, career and college exploration.
