Operates a 10 bed unit for adolescents experiencing anxiety, panic disorders, depression, bipolar illness, schizophrenia, eating disorders, or family crisis that cannot be resolved on an outpatient basis. Admission may also be granted for adolescents experiencing unresolved emotional interpersonal or family difficulties that cannot be resolved on an outpatient basis. A school tutorial program and vocational training are also available. Therapies include individual and group psychotherapy, psychopharmacology and recreational and occupational therapy. Weekly family group meetings provide education and support for family members during the hospitalization period.

Provides a hospital program located at South Oaks in Amityville which offers an educational program for hospitalized adolescents. Both disabled and non-disabled students can enroll in this program. Close contact is established initially with each child's home school guidance counselor to identify the level of instruction needed. The education program at South Oaks, consisting of basic high school subjects in English, social studies, mathematics and science, and is considered an integral part of the treatment program by hospital administration.
