ADULT LEARNING CENTER | ADULT LEARNING CENTER

Empowers adults to reach their highest potential as learners, parents, consumers and citizens through education and technology. Courses are offered in: English For Speakers Of Other Languages; Adult Basic Education; Preparation for The General Education Development Test (GED® Test); National External Diploma Program; Guidance and Counseling Services and Workplace Skill Development. In addition the Long Beach Literacy Zone and Family Welcome Center provides assessment, case management and support services. Services and offerings include ESOL classes, GED preparation, Adult Basic Education, academic counseling, family literacy, social services referrals and case management. The welcome center hub assesses the needs, goals and barriers to education for participants and supports families along a pathway out of poverty. SHARING AND CARING PROGRAM | LONG ISLAND REACH

Provides a high school diploma program for pregnant and parenting teens throughout Nassau County in a small, structured, nurturing environment. Classes are one to one and in small groups and require some level of motivation on the part of the student. Support services are provided including case management services and advocacy. Services are provided at no cost to the home district or to the parents.
