BILINGUAL CERTIFICATE EXTENSION | ST. JOSEPH’S UNIVERSITY
Offers a certificate extension program which is suitable for teachers who have basic certifications in Early Childhood, Early Childhood Special Education, Childhood Education and/or Childhood Special Education, and Secondary Education. The courses offered are appropriate for teachers who, in addition to English, are proficient in another language and who wish to continue their expertise in teaching by acquiring knowledge and developing competencies working in a bilingual classroom or as a teacher of students with speech and language disabilities. ParentChild+ at KULC
An intensive school-readiness home visitation program for toddlers and parents. Trained Early Learning Specialists visit families in their homes for one half-hour twice a week for a minimum of 23 weeks, for up to two program years. The Early Learning Specialist bring educational books and toys, which are used to develop early literacy and school readiness skills, increase the parent-child verbal interaction, model positive parenting, and promote pro-social behaviors. Learning materials gifted to the family serve the additional purpose of creating an educational environment in the home that generalizes to other siblings and serves as a bridge to starting school.

Two-Year-Old Play Group: Meets once a week to help children learn basic socialization skills through free play, arts and crafts, circle time, and snack time. A "first experience" for children to be away from their primary care giver and develop a sense of independence.
Three-Year-Old Preschool (child must be 3 by 12/1): Meets twice weekly to reinforce basic socialization skills and promote positive classroom behavior through free play, arts and crafts, songs, finger plays, snack time, and physical activities. Focus is on helping children develop a love of learning by introducing basic literacy and math concepts in a warm and inviting atmosphere. Gym class and swimming lessons are included during class time.
Four-Year-Old Preschool (child must be 4 by 12/1): Meets daily and brings together out-of-district 4 year-olds with Batavia City School district UPK students.
