Counseling is available for senior victims of elder abuse or financial exploitation. Services are confidential and can be offered in the home, virtual or on site. FCA's compassionate, trained staff can provide: accompaniment to court hearings or police interviews, assists with obtaining a court order of protection, assistance resolving and investigating actual or suspected financial exploitation, assist with filing for crime victim compensation, liaison with the justice system to keep you informed, free community presentations on protection against financial exploitation and scams targeting older adults.

Provides a service, in collaboration with 2 other agencies (My Sisters' Place and Westchester Hispanic Coalition) to offer free legal services for poverty level residents or those who are victims of domestic violence for consumer disputes, housing, education, benefits, domestic violence, orders of protection, custody, child support, family law, including citizenship applications, work authorizations or other immigration issues.

Provides court advocacy services to victims of domestic and teen dating violence in Family, District, and IDV Courts. Court advocacy services available in arraignment part of District Court on weekends. Assistance with petitioning for and obtaining Orders of Protection. Advocates provide clients with support, information and referrals to services offered by LIADV and outside resources. Provides referrals to staff attorney for Family Court cases. Provides assistance with filing Family Offense Petitions to obtain an Order of Protection, assistance filing Custody and Support Petitions, a 24-hour hotline, accompaniment to court, law enforcement agencies, or hospital, personal advocacy, safe house, safety planning, support groups, individual counseling, and information and referral to community resources.

Services include: crisis intervention for sexual assault survivors and their significant others, hotline, short-term counseling, support through medical examinations and treatment, advocacy and support during interaction with law enforcement, court accompaniment, individual consultations with professionals, community education programs, professional training programs, and referrals for additional needed services. In Wyoming County ONLY, offers a dual Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence program, which provides the Non-Shelter Domestic Violence Services as well as the sexual assault services listed above. Domestic violence services include hotline, counseling, court accompaniment, assistance with obtaining orders of protection, and referrals for safe housing.

Responsible for the service and enforcement of orders of protection throughout Suffolk County. They also arrest individuals charged with violating orders of protection and those with family offense related warrants. The Unit provides victims with a safe refuge by removing batterers from the home, seizing weapons and executing arrest warrants against the perpetrators of domestic violence. A program from the Mental Health Association of Westchester which provides assistance in safety planning, calming victims in crisis, explaining court processes, provide emotional support, accompany clients to court, discuss options which may be available, and connect victims to shelters, medical services, counseling, financial assistance, legal services, and compensation/replacement services.

Provides legal representation to victims of domestic violence in Suffolk County relating to family law matters, including obtaining orders of protection and custody.

Investigates and prosecutes all felony cases involving the physical and sexual abuse of children under age 17, as well as all cases involving intimate partner and family violence. The Bureau’s mission also includes working with the Suffolk County Police Department’s Homicide Squad in the investigation and prosecution of infant homicides.
