A program from the Mental Health Association of Westchester which provides assistance in safety planning, calming victims in crisis, explaining court processes, provide emotional support, accompany clients to court, discuss options which may be available, and connect victims to shelters, medical services, counseling, financial assistance, legal services, and compensation/replacement services.

Court of Special Session, hears matters including but not limited to: Criminal Offenses, Violations, Misdemeanors, Civil Disputes, Vehicle Traffic Violations, Parking Citations, Consumer Protection, Code Enforcement, Landlord/Tenant Proceeding – all within the jurisdiction of the Village of Suffern.

Counseling is available for senior victims of elder abuse or financial exploitation. Services are confidential and can be offered in the home, virtual or on site. FCA's compassionate, trained staff can provide: accompaniment to court hearings or police interviews, assists with obtaining a court order of protection, assistance resolving and investigating actual or suspected financial exploitation, assist with filing for crime victim compensation, liaison with the justice system to keep you informed, free community presentations on protection against financial exploitation and scams targeting older adults.

The Town Court hears cases for legal matters that occur within the boundaries of Southeast.

Justice Court handles criminal, civil, small claims, and traffic issues in the local community of West Haverstraw Village.

The Village of Hillburn court provides court related information and assistance.

Wesley Hills Village Court adjudicates civil and criminal cases, vehicle and traffic offenses, landlord-tenant cases, and small claims. Handles all violations of Village Code.

* Offers family court services and provides the following: Child abuse and neglect proceedings initiated by DSS. Child Support proceedings. Paternity proceedings. Juvenile delinquency proceedings initiated by the presentment agent. Persons in Need of Supervision (PINS) proceedings. Custody and visitation proceedings. Adoptions. Guardianship proceedings. Family offense proceedings (requests for orders of protection).

Provides county-wide 9-1-1 communications for fire, emergency medical or police emergencies.

* Offers crisis counseling for all victims of domestic violence. Hotlines for victims, concerned family, friends, and the general community in domestic violence situations or know someone who is. * Offers a shelter for victims of domestic violence and their children. No maximum number of children that may be brought into the shelter; if number exceeds beds available, other arrangements will be made. If no beds available, other arrangements can be made. Can provide services for male victims of domestic violence and their children. Collect calls accepted. * Provides advocacy for out-of-county emergency shelter support. * Offers support groups for victims of domestic violence. * Offers Court Advocacy: Court accompaniment with on-site advocate at family court. Help with securing orders of protection. Legal representation. * Personal advocacy to obtain needed services. * Emotional and Transitional Support Services. Information and counseling and support services. * Offers the Domestic Violence Prevention Education Program. Responsible for the service and enforcement of orders of protection throughout Suffolk County. They also arrest individuals charged with violating orders of protection and those with family offense related warrants. The Unit provides victims with a safe refuge by removing batterers from the home, seizing weapons and executing arrest warrants against the perpetrators of domestic violence.
