Sullivan Housing Corporation was established to preserve and improve housing opportunities for low- to moderate-income residents of Sullivan County. The company's activities include: rehabilitation of existing housing, property management, and assistance to households applying for available loans and grant funds. Rural Sullivan also runs a comprehensive housing counseling program which assists persons through home ownership counseling, loan default remediation, and tenant/landlord issues.

Crime Prevention
Supervised law students facilitate mediations in active landlord-tenant cases in Suffolk County District Court. Representation is provided by upper-level law students working under the close supervision of experienced lawyers who are clinical professors. There is no charge for clinic representation. However, the clinics have limited resources and cannot take every case, no matter how deserving. Clinic staff members meet with potential clients by appointment only. Please do not visit the Law Center unless you have first contacted the Office of Clinical Programs at 631-761-7080 to see if you are eligible.
Eviction Assistance: Provides help to low income who are qualified for subsidized housing and section 8 choice vouchers. For those who may not be qualified for subsidized/section 8, provide older adults, veterans, domestic violence, LGBQT, breast cancer, or individuals diagnosed with AIDS who may be a target for eviction. Landlord/Tenant Dispute Resolution: Aids individuals struggling with their landlord for reasons ranging from eviction, living conditions, recurring problems, etc. Foreclosure Assistance: helps advocate for individuals with mortgage foreclosure with guidance through the legal process and representation, if needed.
