Houses several projects, including the New York Immigrant Family Unity Program, which is an attempt to create a "public defender" style program for men detained at the Buffalo Federal Detention Facility in Batavia. Represents unaccompanied children, who must appear in Buffalo for removal proceedings. Also recruits, trains, and mentors pro bono lawyers to represent these children. Represents survivors of human trafficking in immigration cases. Special "T" visas or other forms of immigration relief are sought for these clients before an application is made for permanent residence. Works collaboratively with the International Institute of Buffalo to make sure clients' legal, social, and health care needs are met. Survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking are also represented, as they have several options under U.S. immigration law to normalize their status. Also houses the WNY Immigration Assistance Center, the goal of which is to provide training and other technical assistance to indigent legal service providers representing non-citizens in criminal and family court proceedings.

Provides intensive training on completing the necessary reading and writing portion of the citizenship test and intensive training on the 100 questions designed by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services during the interview process. Provides assistance in completing government documents such as the N-400 naturalization application, offers ESL classes and provides adult programs, with emphasis for women empowerment, yearly summer internship programs for high school and college children, and a summer Ubuntu program to help in mentorship and improve children's writing skills.
