Immigration Legal Services Program - Journeys End Refugee Services

Provides comprehensive immigration services as well as extended case representation for client's ongoing legal needs, including: naturalization and citizenship, adjustment of status (green cards), family re-unification, asylum, employment authorization, travel documents, temporary protected status, Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), and removal defense. Program is committed to high-quality and full-scale immigration legal representation for refugee communities, as well as representing asylees, parolees, and other low-income immigrant populations throughout Western New York. Languages accommodated include Afar, Amharic, Arabic, Burmese, Czech, Farsi, French, Georgian, Hindi, Karen, Karenni, Kibembe, Kiganda, Kinyarwanda, Kinyamulenge, Kinyabwisha, Kirundi, Kiswahili, Kpelleh, Kurdish, Lingala, Lorma, Mai Mai, Nepali, Pashto, Persian, Portuguese, Somali, Spanish, Swahili, Tajik, Tigrinya, Turkish, Russian, Ukranian, Udru, and Uzbek.

Vive Shelter - Jericho Road Community Health Center

Provides temporary shelter and consultation on eligible legal information for individuals and families fleeing other countries, and are not US citizens, who are seeking asylum status in the United States and Canada. Provides access to Jericho Road programs and healthcare, referrals to community services, housing, shelter, food, and legal assistance. Families and individuals considering asylum in Canada may face significant risk if they proceed directly to the border without consulting an expert. Staff at Vive can help review eligibility and necessary documents to limit negative consequences.

Services for immigrants in need of assistance: FREE Citizenship Applications; Family Petitions; Green Card Applications; Work Authorization Applications; Applications for immigrant victims of domestic violence or other crimes. FREE ESOL (English Speakers of Other Languages) and volunteers assist with language practice and civics lessons to prepare students for citizenship. The Immigrant Services Program (ISP) targets our services to assist immigrants, refugees, asylees, and new arrivals who are living in low-income households, have language and/or cultural barriers, and need assistance in accessing community resources. However, we do assist others as staff time is available. Direct services, case management, and referrals are provided to clients to help them gain self-sufficiency.Examples of our services include:. Job development services. Referrals to adult ESL classes and tutoring. Help with understanding and accessing community resources. Assistance with completing applications. Help with accessing healthcare and childcare providers. Referrals to in-house SNAP and health insurance application appointments. Referrals to tax preparation programs including ITIN applications. Assistance with completing notices regarding social services and public benefitsCatholic Charities is recognized by the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Department of Homeland Security as a non-profit agency that can provide low-cost legal immigration services. Services are fee-based, and we offer a sliding scale for individuals who are living in low-income households. We are affiliated with the Catholic Legal Immigration Network, Inc. (CLINIC).The program director is accredited by the DOJ to provide legal immigration services. Those services include:. Address change. Affidavit of Support. Alien Relative Petition.
