IMMIGRATION LAW CLINIC | TOURO LAW CENTER

Provides representation to individuals fleeing gang and other violence in El Salvador, Honduras, and Guatemala. The Clinic seeks to obtain legal status for its clients by means of asylum and Special Immigrant Juvenile Status. Representation is provided by upper-level law students, working under the close supervision of experienced lawyers who are clinical professors. There is no charge for clinic representation. However, the clinics have limited resources and cannot take every case, no matter how deserving. Clinic staff members meet with potential clients by appointment only. Please do not visit the Law Center unless you have first contacted the Office of Clinical Programs at 631-761-7080 to see if you are eligible.

IMMIGRATION RESOURCE COORDINATOR | ST. JOSEPH'S COMMUNITY OUTREACH

The Immigration Resource Coordinator provides case management through a coordination of services and referrals for Immigrants and Refugees in the North Country Region. The North Country Region includes Clinton, Essex, St Lawrence, Franklin, Jefferson and Lewis Counties. These resources can also include a free immigration consultation with an attorney.

Immigration Program - VLP

The Buffalo Non-Detained Program provides representation to non-citizens in removal proceedings and representation before the United States Customs and Immigration Services (USCIS) so they may begin safe, independent lives in the Western New York. We also serve as the non-profit attorney representative on the WNY Human Trafficking Task Force along with federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies, in federal and local prosecutors, and anti-trafficking social services providers. Houses several projects, including a "public defender" style program for men detained at the Buffalo Federal Detention Facility in Batavia and women detained by ICE in Allegany and Niagara County Jails.

Provides access to Jericho Road programs and healthcare, referrals to community services, housing, shelter, food, and legal assistance. Families and individuals considering asylum in Canada may face significant risk if they proceed directly to the border without consulting an expert.
