Advocates for the legal rights and the change of legislation regarding issues which impact the poor immigrants in New York state, and find just cause when local or county government is not correcting a problem.

Provides citizenship classes and support to immigrants who want to become permanent residents of the United States, including English classes, translation, and reading and writing workshops.

Offers citizenship workshops, as well as assistance with the citizenship application process for adults.

Offers immigration assistance and representation for individuals subjected to interpersonal violence who may qualify for: Special Immigrant Juvenile (SIJ) status, Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) Applications, U Visa Applications (for victims of violent crime). Provides assistance with deferred action, prosecutorial discretion or other situation-specific relief.

Provides representation to individuals fleeing gang and other violence in El Salvador, Honduras, and Guatemala. The Clinic seeks to obtain legal status for its clients by means of asylum and Special Immigrant Juvenile Status. Representation is provided by upper-level law students, working under the close supervision of experienced lawyers who are clinical professors. There is no charge for clinic representation. However, the clinics have limited resources and cannot take every case, no matter how deserving. Clinic staff members meet with potential clients by appointment only. Provides assistance in completing government documents such as the N-400 naturalization application, offers ESL classes and provides adult programs, with emphasis for women empowerment, yearly summer internship programs for high school and college children, and a summer Ubuntu program to help in mentorship and improve children's writing skills.

The Immigrant Services Program (ISP) targets our services to assist immigrants, refugees, asylees, and new arrivals who are living in low-income households, have language and/or cultural barriers, and need assistance in accessing community resources.
