DEPORTATION DEFENSE CLINIC | MAURICE A. DEANE SCHOOL OF LAW AT HOFSTRA UNIVERSITY 

Provides full deportation defense services for clients most at-risk of deportation. The Clinic defends clients in need of motions to reopen prior removal orders, facing false gang allegations, seeking release on bond, and victims of trafficking seeking relief. The clinic provides legal screenings for relief, responds to ICE raids, represents clients detained in ICE jails, litigates in immigration court (such as master calendar, bond, and individual hearings), administrative advocacy with USCIS and at asylum interviews, and appellate litigation before the Board of Immigration Appeals and in Federal Court. Also provide Impact litigation. We challenge policies and practices that harm the immigrant community on Long Island and in New York. In addition we provide Community advocacy. We advocate for human, civil, and constitutional rights for immigrant communities on Long Island and in New York through collaborations with legal service providers, legal trainings, professional development, legislative and administrative advocacy, and community organizing. IMMIGRATION LAW CLINIC | TOURO LAW CENTER

Provides representation to individuals fleeing gang and other violence in El Salvador, Honduras, and Guatemala. The Clinic seeks to obtain legal status for its clients by means of asylum and Special Immigrant Juvenile Status. Representation is provided by upper-level law students, working under the close supervision of experienced lawyers who are clinical professors. There is no charge for clinic representation. However, the clinics have limited resources and cannot take every case, no matter how deserving. Clinic staff members meet with potential clients by appointment only. Please do not visit the Law Center unless you have first contacted the Office of Clinical Programs at 631-761-7080 to see if you are eligible.
