Provides a range of Spanish/English services to assist individuals affected by violence, sexual assault, stalking, and dating violence. Services include case management, support groups, advocacy, counseling, crisis intervention services, safety planning, education, transitional and permanent housing as well as ancillary services. Offers assistance with court advocacy, child custody issues, orders of protection, Department of Social Services waivers, case management, and other related matters. (Licensed and approved by the New York State Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS)).

Family Court can help residents obtain an order of protection, file a violation, obtain custody of children, get child support, visitation, and provided other family related services. If some one needs to obtain or to modify a Family Court Order of Protection. While people are in court there is a free child care room at the YWCA for them to bring children. Children are not allowed into the court room, unless otherwise advised.

Pro bono attorneys and law students provide consultation and advice in child support matters. Representation in court is not provided.
Goals of the Institute for Family Forensic Psychology include: to help parents responsibly manage their conflict; provide evaluative information to help determine strength and needs of the parents and children, and to provide therapeutic programs for children and families going through divorce and/or other family reorganizations. Services provided by IFFP include: Individual psychotherapy to children and families going through reorganization; Family therapy for high conflict court involved families; Psychotherapy for families involved in the child protective system; Children of Divorce Groups; Therapeutic Visitation; Co-parenting counseling; Evaluations; Forensic Custody and Visitation Evaluations; Court ordered Psychological Evaluations; Child Protection Evaluations and PEACE Program. The PEACE (Parent Education and Custody Effectiveness) Program is an educational program designed to provide information to parents about the divorce and separation process. Our main goal is to improve parent/child relationships in the reorganized family and reduce the number of contested custody, visitation, and support disputes that face our courts. Provides services to help children and their families through an investigation of child abuse by offering forensic interviews, victim advocacy, pediatric forensic medical exams, and counseling services.
Provides legal services through the Committee on Courts of Appellate Jurisdiction of the New York State Bar Association in appeals in the Appellate Division, Third Department through the pro bono attorneys. Appeals Program representation will be limited to family and matrimonial law issues, including family offenses, custody and visitation, divorce, paternity, and termination of parental rights. Not included are appeals addressing only the amount of child support awarded under the Child Support Standards Act.
