Some of the services provided include: Career Assessment, Referral to Jobs, Contacting Employers on your behalf, Resume preparation assistance, Information on Federal, State and Local Civil Service Opportunities, Job Search Planning, Labor Market Information, Information on direct appointment to Civil Service positions and Referral to other agencies that provide services to veterans. Provides a veterans caseworker who can help connect you to what you are entitled to as a veteran, regardless of age, branch of service or time served.
Assists military personnel, who have returned from active duty, to apply for benefits which they may need, or to help them find services.
Provides a food pantry for Veterans, the Military and their families, and families in need. LI Cares hosts Military Appreciation Tuesdays in Huntington Station, Lindenhurst, and Freeport which gives veterans and their families access to food, personal care items, household products, pet food, and school supplies. Also veterans are provided with information and resources pertaining to veteran special benefits. LI Cares also operates a Mobile Pantry which delivers nutritious groceries to homebound, disabled veterans unable to access their local pantries.

Provides a myriad of supportive services to very low-income Veteran families who are residing in permanent housing, are homeless and scheduled to become residents of permanent housing within a specified time period, or after exiting permanent housing, are seeking other housing that is responsive to such very low-income veteran family's needs and preferences. Support services include personal financial planning services, income support services, legal services, housing search and counseling, vocational and rehabilitation services through the New York State Department of Labor, employment training through the Suffolk County One-Stop Employment Center, outreach services, peer support, case management services, assistance obtaining VA benefits and other public benefits.
