Offers legal counseling and representation for people with physical, mental or developmental disabilities who have been victims of abuse, neglect or violated rights.

Provides information and assistance in finding local shopping areas, restaurants, and overnight accommodations that are handicapped accessible. Acts as a voice for the handicapped in-town matters. Makes appointment for handicapped van.

Provides family support services, including information, referral, and counseling. Offers advocacy for entitlements and parenting skills training for developmentally disabled persons. Remote services are available.

Provides case management and educational advocacy support for children with disabilities and their families. Provides Pre-Employment Transition Services to school age youth between the ages of 14-21. Provides screenings, assessments, ancillary services (PT, OT, speech therapy), respite, and health and mental health clinic services.

Provides information, referral, and advocacy for children birth to 21 years who have, or are suspected of having a serious or chronic physical, developmental, behavioral, and/or emotional condition and who require health or related services of a type or amount beyond that typically required of children. Has many programs and resources to assist constituents, including Deaf Services, Medicaid Application Assistance Program, Independent Living Skills training, Consumer Directed Personal Assistance Services (CDPAS), and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and benefit/entitlement services for individuals with disabilities. Also offers a medical loan closet. Addict 2 Addict (A2A): A peer-led team serving people with substance use disorders and their families and loved ones. Peers (in sustained recovery themselves and/or having loved ones with a substance use disorder) share their recovery experience and help those with substance use disorders navigate the many avenues to take by offering information, advocacy, and Peer Counseling to help them reach their first steps on the path to recovery. The team is available 24 hours per day, 7 days per week and will respond to a call at 716-498-4333 within 24 hours.

A community-based agency run by and for individuals with disabilities that provides specialized information and referral, independent living skills training, individual and systems advocacy, peer counseling, medical equipment loan program, and transportation. Also offers assistance finding employment and housing and applying for social security benefits.

Provides comprehensive outpatient managed mental health services which includes treatment, rehabilitation, peer run groups, health education, service coordination, daily activities skills teaching, relapse prevention, money management and entitlement assistance, educational assistance, peer support, self help, and crisis intervention. Vocational services can provide a path to recovering a life role as a worker.

Provides independent living skills, information and referral, advocacy, peer counseling, transitional services, benefits and entitlements advisement, educational advocacy, nursing home transition into the community, individual support services, Olmsted housing subsidies, and support groups for people with disabilities. Loan closet provides free, gently used medical equipment including wheelchairs, walkers, canes, crutches, shower benches, raised toilet seats, portable ramps, and more, based on availability.

Provides assistance to New Yorkers with disabilities who are receiving or applying for vocational rehabilitation (VR) services from New York State VR agencies or from Tribal VR programs. The state agencies are the New York State Adult Career and Continuing Education Services-Vocational Rehabilitation (ACCES-VR) and the New York State Commission for the Blind (NYSCB). CAP also assists applicants and recipients of services from federally funded independent living centers (ILCs).
