Provides mediation programs to help people solve their problems, no matter the situation or setting. Mediation can: - Help couples looking to get divorced and or separated - Help landlords and tenants work out issues - Help parents and schools agree on special education matters - Help employees and employers resolve conflict - Help neighbors restore harmony in the community - Help families handle issues with teens, siblings, and aging adults - Help parents work out custody and visitation arrangements - Help parties with legal issues who are looking for an alternative to court Services are offered virtually, over the phone, and in person. In addition to mediation programs, the Center collaborates with local civil legal services providers to offer holistic legal services for victims of crime in Erie, Niagara, and Genesee counties. Center staff will work with victims to identify legal issues and to discuss pathways to achieving justice. The Center also offers Education and Training workshops that provide skills-based trainings, consultation, and coaching services.

Collaborative Practice is a process that helps couples settle their divorce, separation, and/or parenting matters with the help of lawyers, but without going to court. Collaborative Practice can also be used to resolve other legal matters, such as estate disputes, small business formation and dissolution, and employment issues.The No Cost Collaborative Program matches eligible clients with collaborative attorneys who will work with them in the collaborative process at no cost to the client.To determine whether you are eligible to work with a free collaborative attorney through the No Cost Collaborative Program, contact LAWNY at 607-273-3667 for help with collaborative divorce, separation, support and/or parenting issues. Offers prevention based programs and services in an individual or group setting to local school districts. Programming includes, behavior management, attendance issues, bullying prevention and intervention, mentoring, peer mediation, aggression reduction, drug and alcohol prevention, leadership, and resiliency skill building.

Provides an opportunity for those involved in harm to discuss what happened, what they were thinking, and what might repair the harm. In a Conference, those who cause harm, those who experience harm, support people, and community members sit down with a facilitator to uncover the impact of the harm and come to consensus about ways to build or rebuild relationships. Anybody can refer a conflict to the Erie County Restorative Justice Coalition for Restorative Conferencing.

Conducts a variety of workshops for people of all ages. School-based workshops include staff development workshops, in-classroom workshop, bias awareness, bullying, problem solving, and a three-day peer mediation training workshop for students. Community-based workshops are conducted for community, organizations, hospitals, and religious organizations that work with children and young adults. Conflict Resolution for Facilitators Workshop provides participants with conflict resolution training skills. Nurturing Inclusive Community Environment (NICE) is an emotional support program designed to end school violence and encourage academic success in a safe, peaceful learning environment. The CRC Elder Concerns gives support in the decision making process regarding health concerns and the transition to assisted living or nursing homes. Other services are also available, such as in-service course credits, mediation services, response to bullying workshops, a leadership and social justice day camp, LGBTQ workshops, and a re-entry support program for formerly incarcerated parents and their children.
