FAMILY SUPPORT SERVICES (FSS) | NORTHERN REGIONAL CENTER FOR INDEPENDENT LIVING (NRCIL)

Provides a community-based system of care for families of children with disabilities. Offers both formal and informal services, with an emphasis on self-determination and family control, to help support families with children who have a disability. Offers family engagement activities, peer support, advocacy training, and parenting groups and classes.

SELF-DIRECTED SUPPORT SERVICES | LIBERTY RESOURCES

Provides a needs assessment, review of available resources and development of a financial budget. Coordinates respite support either through self-hire or agency provided.

VILLAGE AT ITHACA | THE VILLAGE AT ITHACA

The Village at Ithaca is a non-profit organization that advocates for educational equity and excellence for all students, particularly Black/African American, Hispanic/Latino/Latinx, low-income, and any other underserved students in Tompkins County.We offer academic support and mentoring, youth and family advocacy, and work on changing inequitable systems and policies. Our trained staff build relationships with the students and families we work with to understand the unique circumstances of each situation and identify possible solutions.Some of our services include:-Helping families in the CSE process, resolving conflicts with school staff, and handling student disciplinary actions.-Working with students to explore alternative paths to educational success.-Providing supportive services for youth and young adults experiencing homelessness.-Offering summer youth employment opportunities-Helping families navigate challenges with housing, public benefits, and our court system.-Connecting families to local resources to meet basic needs

CROSS ROADS | CEREBRAL PALSY ASSOCIATION OF THE NORTH COUNTRY

ADVOCACY | LONG ISLAND FAMILIES TOGETHER

Families Together collaborates with families, schools, policymakers and service providers to ensure families receive the services needed for their children. An annual legislative luncheon during session allows families to have the opportunity to voice their concerns and ideas with policymakers. The goal is to ensure that all children and youth have the support they need in order to succeed. The board and staff are made up primarily of family members and youth representing thousands of families from across the state whose children have been involved in many systems including mental health, substance abuse, special education, juvenile justice, and foster care.
