The Village at Ithaca is a non-profit organization that advocates for educational equity and excellence for all students, particularly Black/African American, Hispanic/Latino/Latinx, low-income, and any other underserved students in Tompkins County.We offer academic support and mentoring, youth and family advocacy, and work on changing inequitable systems and policies. Our trained staff build relationships with the students and families we work with to understand the unique circumstances of each situation and identify possible solutions.Some of our services include:-Helping families in the CSE process, resolving conflicts with school staff, and handling student disciplinary actions.-Working with students to explore alternative paths to educational success.-Providing supportive services for youth and young adults experiencing homelessness.-Offering summer youth employment opportunities-Helping families navigate challenges with housing, public benefits, and our court system.-Connecting families to local resources to meet basic needs

STRAWW Recovery Guides assist participants in developing recovery plans tailored to their individual needs. Various tools are used to assist participants to define their goals and develop a plan to reach them. Program links participants with community activities and programs as well as creating activities and events that are of interest to participants. In addition, disabled individuals have the opportunity to meet in groups or one-on-one sessions to discuss common experiences, support one another's efforts, and provide guidance toward the common goal of increased independence.
