Latinas Prosperando or Thriving Latinas program is for Latina immigrant women who are survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault and/or stalking. Case management, ESL classes, financial literacy, education on housing search options, and workforce development support is provided. Knitting Our Stories - Tejiendo Nuestras Historias, provides a safe space where women can learn to heal from past traumatic experiences through a culturally-adapted support group and art therapy.

* Provides a linkage of families and individuals who have a brain injury, which includes: Family Advocacy: Support and counseling, connecting family with funding resources, housing, transportation, and service providers. Educational Advocacy: Support and counseling for educational needs after a brain injury, helping family with IEP process, and attendance at CSE meetings. Outreach: Connection with service providers, hospitals, schools, etc. to increase awareness of BIANYS, traumatic and acquired brain injury, and increasing FACTS enrollment. Prevention: Connection with service providers, hospitals, schools, etc. to teach injury prevention and safety. Training: Connection with service providers, hospitals, schools, etc. to conducts trainings about traumatic and acquired brain injury.

Educating, empowering and advocating for long-term care residents. The Ombudsman Program is an effective advocate and resource for older adults and persons with disabilities who live in nursing homes, assisted living and other licensed adult care homes. Advocates for residents by investigating and resolving complaints made by or on behalf of residents; promoting the development of resident and family councils; and informing government agencies, providers and the general public about issues and concerns impacting residents of long-term care facilities.

Provides advocacy for individuals who are in need of services, such as SNAP, addiction issues, and housing assistance.

Offers an outpatient treatment-referral program designed to serve individuals between the ages of 12 and 35 who are at risk or who have been sexually exploited/human trafficked, at-risk of sexual exploitation/human trafficking, runaway or are homeless. Services provided include individual and family counseling, street outreach, GED classes, DSS advocacy, life skills education, housing assistance, and education and job placement and are tailored to meet all the needs of each individual utilizing services.

* The attorneys and advocates of the Education Law program at the Legal Aid Society of Rochester provide support and legal representation to youth and their families in a variety of circumstances, including: School Attendance. Committee on Special Education (CSE) meetings. Section 504 Plan meetings. Formation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and section 504 Plans. Student Discipline. Superintendent Suspension Hearings and Manifestation Determination Hearings. School Residency, and Enrollment cases, including Homeless cases. Responsibilities and Rights of Youth, Parents & Schools. Student Health and Safety - including bullying. Transportation matters. Sports elegibility. Independent educationl evaluations. General education appeals to the Commisioner.

* Provides crisis counseling for individuals dealing with rape, sexual assault/abuse, child sexual abuse, domestic violence, sexual harassment, and human trafficking.* Offers advocacy with other agencies and individuals.* Offers accompaniment to family and criminal court proceedings for people who are involved in domestic violence hearings.* Offers accompaniment to and advocacy with hospitals, the department of social services, law enforcement, and other agencies as needed.* Offers case management services related to housing, mental health, and educational needs. *Offers support groups and referral to long-term therapy for people who have been sexually assaulted.* Raises awareness and works towards the prevention of rape, sexual assault, child sexual abuse, sexual harassment, incest, human trafficking, and domestic violence.* Offers education and presentations to schools, professional agencies, and the community on all topics related to agency services.

* Provides educational, financial, social and emotional assistance to families who have children with cancer or blood disorder being treated at Golisano Children's Hospital, at Strong Memorial Hospital, in the Rochester area.

* Offers advocacy by court-appointed volunteers for children in the court system in cases of abuse and/or neglect. * Provides independent investigation of the children's environments, safety, health, education and visitation and others as needed. * Presents concerns to the court, attorney, and caseworker and others. * Advocates for permanent placement, monitors court action plans and reports progress to the court and all parties.

From resolving medical debts to proving eligibility for public health insurance, obtaining services that should be covered by Medicaid, and helping with language or disability accommodations, helps to eliminate barriers to healthcare for people and families with low-income.

Provides individual and group counseling, crisis intervention to individual who have been victims of domestic violence or sexual assault. Others services include advocacy, support groups, along with counseling to significant others, family members, friends of those who have been victims.

Responds to the needs of developmentally disabled individuals and their families/caregivers who are experiencing a crisis situation. Crisis intervention may include any situation by which a developmentally disabled individual needs an immediate alternative day or residential option, when traditional service delivery models do not meet families' needs and when linkage and referral services are needed to connect the individual with ongoing services which address behavioral, medical, or situational needs.

Offers free legal advice and direct representation to veterans in civil (non-criminal)legal matters, such as housing issues, eviction, foreclosure prevention, denied benefits, consumer protection, child support assistance, etc.

Provides a variety of support services for Spanish speaking residents. Offers free information about health related issues, blood pressure screening and arranges appointments at the Health Center. Assists them on information and referrals to resources in the community for specific needs, such as food, housing, education, etc. Provides advocacy or mediation to help them understand medical information or hospital/doctor bills, utility payments, their children's education needs, along with speaking to the various agencies, on their behalf.

Refers resident's issues to the town department responsible for handling their concerns. Acts as an advocate for the taxpayer.

Provides court advocacy services to victims of domestic and teen dating violence in Family, District, and IDV Courts. Court advocacy services available in arraignment part of District Court on weekends. Assistance with petitioning for and obtaining Orders of Protection. Advocates provide clients with support, information and referrals to services offered by LIADV and outside resources. Provides referrals to staff attorney for Family Court cases.
