Provides a variety of fun, recreational, and support services to the older adults in the community. Some services include transportation equipped with a wheelchair lift for shopping, errands and medical appointments, exercise, arts and crafts, and more. A senior advocate is available, by appointment to help with benefits or insurance information, long term care, health issues, volunteer opportunities, help with filling out and understanding application forms, etc.

Provides services to crime victims and witnesses involved in the criminal justice process. Services Include: Assistance with applying to New York State Crime Victims Board for compensation; Information on your role in the criminal justice process and the significant stages of the process; Assistance with security measures to help protect your safety; Court information and case information. This includes explaining each step of the proceeding in order to help alleviate confusion and the resulting anxiety. Additionally court dates, times and places can be confirmed along with information on what to expect when you get there; Court accompaniment. If desired, a staff member of the Victim Services Unit will accompany the victim or witness to hearings and trial in order to provide support; Assistance with Property Return; Intervention with creditors and employers; Referrals to any social services you may need and Assistance with post-conviction proceedings, including the preparation of a Victim Impact Statement if a pre-sentence report is prepared in the case; speaking at the time of sentencing for felony offenses; and notifications regarding the defendant's parole or release from a correctional facility. Provides following services for people living within boundaries of the parish: advocacy information and referral food pantry volunteer driving funds for transportation to DSS referrals for clothing and furniture through the St. Vincent de Paul Society thrift shop and various support groups (bereavement, moms and tots, caregivers).

Offers a two hour training session for patients or advocates to help prepare individuals for hospitalization, understand the healthcare system and cope with a medical diagnosis. Call for more information.

Provides individual and group counseling, crisis intervention to individual who have been victims of domestic violence or sexual assault. Others services include advocacy, support groups, along with counseling to significant others, family members, friends of those who have been victims.

Offers grief support groups and Domestic Violence Victims weekly support groups. Confidential location of the Domestic Violence Victims group is shared with women when they call for information. Other support groups may be formed based on need or upon request.

Provides services to adults and children with developmental disabilities who waive the right to live in an institution and choose to live at home with their families. Case management services are provided to clients who are on Medicaid and also to those who are not Medicaid eligible.

Offers support for persons with developmental disabilities. Services include assessment of service needs, service planning and coordination, linkage and referral, follow-up, monitoring and advocacy. Maintains regular contact with the individual, primary caregiver and service provider to assist with the planning and obtaining of services and supports.

Provides individual, youth, and family counseling, play therapy, co-parenting help for unmarried parents, budget counseling, emergency food assistance, information and referral, advocacy, services to the elderly and their families, and domestic violence classes if mandated by the court. During the holiday season, provides assistance with coats, food vouchers to purchase ingredients for holiday meals, and toys/gifts for families who are not receiving gifts from Toys for Tots or Salvation Army.

Provides case management services such as: assessment and referral for personal care, housekeeping and Meals-on-Wheels; screening for all entitlements and benefits such as Food Stamps, Medicaid and Senior Citizen Rent Increase Exemption (SCRIE), application assistance, advocacy.

Provides crime victim advocacy and support services for all victims of hate crimes as well as hate crime prevention programs for adult and mature teen audiences.

Provides legal advocacy including information, referrals or accompaniment to: Family Court, Criminal Court, Domestic Violence Court, Sex Offense Court, Integrated Domestic Violence Court, police, probation department and District Attorney's office. Petitions and accompaniment for orders of protection. Also provides assistance to victims and family members who are entitled to compensation through the New York State Crime Victims Board. An outreach program that targets communities who would like ESL classes to help improve health literacy.
