Offers legal counsel and representation for low-income individuals or families having to go to court for criminal offenses or various family matters.

Offers individualized services to residents of southeastern Nassau County and their families who are survivors of domestic violence or abuse. Programs, geared toward self-empowerment, include individual and family counseling, case management, advocacy and referrals to appropriate agencies. Additional services may include substance abuse treatment, parenting skill groups and leisure time activities.

Provides a range of Spanish/English services to assist individuals affected by violence, sexual assault, stalking, and dating violence. Services include case management, support groups, advocacy, counseling, crisis intervention services, safety planning, education, transitional and permanent housing as well as ancillary services. Offers assistance with court advocacy, child custody issues, orders of protection, Department of Social Services waivers, case management, and other related matters. Provides residents of adult homes with legal and non legal advocacy services as well as training in issues which include the rights of adult home residents, rights of persons receiving services from mental health agencies and self-advocacy.

Support services for basic needs and advocacy to low income residents. Operates food pantry that is open on the third Wednesday of each month 10am-2pm. We offer free Martial Arts Program for 6 year olds and older for those who qualify, a Summer Youth Program, and Youth Council Program. Provides training, information, and resources to help craft artists prevent emergencies and to protect themselves and their businesses when emergencies occur. Also is a connection and guide to other sources for support, business development , health, safety, risk management and insurance. Also advocates and engages in research, and backs policy that supports craft artists' careers.

Acts as a policy analysis and advocacy organization for shaping public policies affecting human services throughout New York State. Supports income maintenance, employment, health and nutrition, mental health care, and social services for families, children and the elderly. Informs New York State health and human service organizations on federal, state and regional public policy and legislative issues that affect the agencies and/or their clients.

Advocates legislatively on a county, state and federal level for quality residential services, medical coverage, educational programs, etc. for individuals with developmental disabilities.

Provides services to crime victims and witnesses involved in the criminal justice process. Services Include: Assistance with applying to New York State Crime Victims Board for compensation; Information on your role in the criminal justice process and the significant stages of the process; Assistance with security measures to help protect your safety; Court information and case information. This includes explaining each step of the proceeding in order to help alleviate confusion and the resulting anxiety. Additionally court dates, times and places can be confirmed along with information on what to expect when you get there; Court accompaniment. If desired, a staff member of the Victim Services Unit will accompany the victim or witness to hearings and trial in order to provide support; Assistance with Property Return; Intervention with creditors and employers; Referrals to any social services you may need and Assistance with post-conviction proceedings, including the preparation of a Victim Impact Statement if a pre-sentence report is prepared in the case; speaking at the time of sentencing for felony offenses; and notifications regarding the defendant's parole or release from a correctional facility. Provides mediation and arbitration services for community, parent/child, divorce, custody and visitation, and juvenile issues. A neutral third person, the mediator, facilitates discussions between the parties. The mediator helps participants develop or refine their communication skills, and teaches school children techniques for resolving disagreements. Mediators are trained conflict resolution volunteers.

Provides assistance in gaining and appealing SSDI, SSI, as well as administers Pooled Trust accounts.
