LOCATER (Lost Child Alert Technology Resource), Xpedite, and NY Alert allow for repaid distribution of photographic images and biographical information within minutes - Placement of missing child and vulnerable adult photographs and biographical information on the DCJS and National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) web sites - Development and distribution of printed missing child posters statewide - Co-coordination of statewide implementation and operation of the NYS AMBER Alert Program, which provides law enforcement agencies with a mechanism for rapid and widespread public dissemination of information in the event of a child abduction - Administration of the statewide missing/unidentified person repository (mandated "flagging" missing child birth and educational records is facilitated through the use of this data) - Analysis, transcription, and entry of dental and anatomical information into DCJS and National Crime Information Center (NCIC) files on behalf of law enforcement agencies and medical examiners - Collaboration with NCMEC and other state clearinghouses - Presentation of investigative training programs for law enforcement officers, along with development and dissemination of investigative procedures and guides - Furthering investigative and educational efforts instituted pursuant to the US Department of Justice funded NYS Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force Program - Development and distribution of child safety literature - Ongoing community outreach, including presentations about child and Internet safety to various groups and organizations

Helps find missing children through pre-registration program, through the national dissemination of photos of missing children to businesses and corporations, and through networking efforts with law enforcement, state clearinghouse personnel, social service agencies and missing children agencies.

Reconnects families separated from relatives overseas, due to disaster or conflicts. Also assists families with members who are survivors of the Holocaust in locating or obtaining information on friends or families they lost contact with at the time of the war.

Offers safety materials for children and preventive counseling through A-WAY-OUT services. Also promotes awareness and prevention information about Child Find's safety program and services, and sponsors National Missing Children Day, May 25th. Also offers referral services when needed.

Provides a toll free 24 hour hotline to report information on missing children which is immediately shared with law enforcement agencies. Also provides investigation assistance in finding missing children, coordinates Amber Alerts, distributes child safety information, and posts missing children's pictures in public areas.

Offers child safety program training to prevent child abduction. Programs offered to private organizations, school curriculum, childrens workshops and assemblies, parent workshops, staff development, and child identification(includes fingerprinting).

Works to reconnect families who have been separated due to natural disaster, armed conflict, migration or other humanitarian crises. Provides tracing services for those who do not know the location of their families, Red Cross Messages for those who do not have means to communicate with their families, certificates of detention, Natural Disaster Inquiries, Health and Welfare inquiries, and travel documents. Caseworkers help families locate missing relatives by working with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), Red Cross, and Red Crescent organizations in nearly every country around the world.

Assists in the identification and safe, timely return of individuals who has propensity for wandering and/or becoming lost. Partners with local law enforcement. Individuals wear a wrist band, the wrist band transmit where they are so police can find them.
