Provides teen gang and violence intervention programs.
Provides a partnership between law enforcement and community service agencies which aim to reduce gang violence by offering a life coach to assist those seeking escape from group/gang involvement.
Community-based resource and referral office that provides social services to the general community, with a focus on young people at risk of gang involvement, as well as the re-entry population and other justice-involved individuals. CPP works on the ground in Hempstead, which has been disproportionately affected by gang and gun violence, to promote the District Attorney’s vision of collaborating with community members to reduce recidivism, educate and empower young people and build a safer community. CPP’s staff facilitate gang intervention/prevention groups for parolees, probationers, and young people, and they provide individual case management to address clients’ needs. CPP’s staff also engage in school-based programming designed to help young people make better choices and avoid circumstances that would lead them into danger. CPP’s services are free and available on a walk-in basis to any member of the community, in English and Spanish. Call for detailed information.

Aims to prevent bullying, youth crime, violence, drug use, and gang involvement while promoting a positive relationship among law enforcement, families, and our youth. G.R.E.A.T. lessons focus on life skills designed to help students avoid using delinquent behavior and violence to solve problems, and further helps them make positive choices in life. There are four components to the G.R.E.A.T. program: a 13-session middle school curriculum, a 6- session elementary school curriculum, a summer program, and families training. The Court Liaison Unit includes the Preventive/Post Institutional Project, and Reach for Peace (Gang/Violence Protection). These programs provide legal advocacy, case management and counseling services to youth in the adult/juvenile criminal justice system who are under age 21 and reside in Long Beach, Island Park, East Atlantic Beach, Lido Beach or Point Lookout. Advocates alternatives to incarceration and provides transitional services for youth returning to the community from residential placement
