The Our Lady of Peace Academy is a free standing alternative school for grades 7 through 12. Individualized instruction and private tutoring is provided by qualified teachers.

Provides in-home education and support to parents with children at-risk of out-of-home placement because of neglect or abuse. Staff visits family in their homes, providing individualized instruction tailored to the parents strengths and needs such as providing a safe and healthy environment for their child or children, child development and parenting skills, conflict management strategies, goal-setting, and accessing community resources.

Offers diversion services to prevent juvenile offenders from being sent to Family Court. Youth are referred from schools, parents, law enforcement agencies and other community agencies. This is a voluntary program. Both the parents and youth must agree to participate. Youth must be deemed truant, incorrigible or runaways.

Presents a program that is an evidence-based curriculum offered in many states throughout the nation. The classroom curriculum is taught by Suffolk County Deputy Sheriffs and Correction Officers who received specialized training to present to elementary and middle school students. Prevention as its primary objective, the program aims to prevent bullying, youth crime, violence, drug use, and gang involvement while promoting a positive relationship among law enforcement, families, and our youth. G.R.E.A.T. Lessons focus on life skills designed to help students avoid using delinquent behavior and violence to solve problems, and further helps them make positive choices in life. A growing number of Suffolk County`s youth are in danger of falling prey to criminal and gang activity. Young teens especially face peer pressures that often make them act in ways that help them become “accepted” by a group, but they have no idea about the consequences of their behavior. As a result, many young people at an early age begin what may become a painful life of criminal behavior. These tours must be scheduled in advance and the youth must be accompanied by a parent. Opens the doors for thousands of students to take an in-depth tour of both our Riverhead and Yaphank Correctional Facilities. The tours give a realistic, first-hand glimpse into the inner workings of our correctional facilities and what a daily life as a correction officer and justice-involved individuals looks like. YES Tours are a great fit for criminal justice classes or students interested in pursuing a career in the criminal justice field. An alternative to incarceration offering a sentencing and community supervision option for offenders.

Program serves disabled students, ages 11 through 21, who require highly intensive management needs due to conduct disorders. The program provides ongoing educational instruction that incorporates the Common Core Learning Standards. The services of a consulting psychiatrist are available for those conduct disordered students who also have psychiatric needs. In addition, strong emphasis is placed upon remedial instruction, vocational training and having each student's parents and family become part of the treatment. An after-school program is offered for students who are unable to attend a normal full-day school due to the students' disability(ies). This option is also suitable for students who are employed during the school day and who require after-school educational programming to complete their high school studies. Related services, support services and psychiatric consultation services are also offered for students who require these specialized services.

(Drug Abuse Resistance Education) Program and other programs that explore the law and responsibility in an attempt to prevent crime.
