Offers domestic violence and sexual assault prevention education and outreach to community organizations and schools. Community educators or leaders are able to create presentations, attend conferences and sit in on informational panels. A wide range of prevention presentations are offered to elementary, middle, and high school students in the community.

Offers seminars to educate the community on various issues, such as fire or crime prevention, recycling, housing safety, health care information and more. Also inform residents about current issues or problems through fliers, church bulletins, newspaper and local events.

Provides follow-up and referral services to adult victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. Program works to enhance victim safety and support as well as perpetrator accountability. Staff collaborates with Jamestown City Court, Chautauqua County District Attorney's office, Catholic Charities (domestic violence classes for men), Chautauqua County Probation/Parole, Salvation Army, and many other human service counseling agencies to provide a coordinated community response to domestic violence. Facilitates the Chautauqua County Coalition Against Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault. Coalition consists of service providers, health care professionals, law enforcement personnel, clergy, and business sectors that meet every other month to address the needs of those affected by interpersonal violence.

Designed to provide a model response program to civilians within their community. The presentation provides strategies, guidance, and a proven plan for surviving an active shooter event. This presentation is designed for any public or private building personnel, to educate them on how to respond in the event of an active shooter situation. This 2-hour program provides practical lessons on how to save lives. This program is available for all congregations, schools, offices, and businesses in the 5 East End towns of Suffolk County. **THIS AGENCY HAS DISCONTINUED SERVICES AS OF MARCH 14, 2025** The Community Education Department helps the professional community be more effective in working with clients of all ages who are victims of rape and sexual assault, domestic and dating violence, and child abuse and neglect. The staff is available to perform onsite trainings for mental health practitioners, substance abuse counselors, youth workers, educators, health practitioners, and those whose work may intersect the victims of family violence and rape and sexual assault. Seminars on mandated reporting of child abuse include: how to work with domestic violence victims; general and advanced overviews of trauma; prevention of dating abuse and sexual assault for middle, high school and college students; and elder abuse. Works with community members and parents on issues such as preventing sexual abuse of children, preventing dating abuse, and to prevent and respond to domestic abuse and rape and sexual assault.

Responsible for the service and enforcement of orders of protection throughout Suffolk County. They also arrest individuals charged with violating orders of protection and those with family offense related warrants. The Unit provides victims with a safe refuge by removing batterers from the home, seizing weapons and executing arrest warrants against the perpetrators of domestic violence. The Unit works closely with various domestic violence agencies both on the private and county level to offer or assist victims of domestic violence. Call for more detailed information.

This is a collaboration of residents and police to look for neighbors, and inform police of unusual or suspicious activity.

Provides education and public awareness to local residents on how to protect themselves, to be alert, child safety, home burglary, auto theft, ATM safety, and more.

Residential and Shelter Program: Open to all victims of domestic violence and their children. Provides information and referral, advocacy, crisis intervention, counseling, support group, and case management. Non-Residential Services: Chautauqua County Domestic Violence Rape Crisis Hotline, information and referral, advocacy, support groups, crisis intervention, and case management. Children and Family Outreach: Provides group and individual counseling services to children who are past or present victims of domestic violence, sexual abuse, and/or child abuse. Education and Outreach: Offers presentations in schools and the community on a variety of topics, with a focus on domestic violence and sexual assault. Collaborates with community agencies and service providers to support families based on their cultural and individual strengths and needs to provide preventive and foster care services. Provides child welfare program, adoption services, preventive services, and foster care resulting from voluntary or court placement. Preventive services are supports and assistance to help a family learn skills (such as coping skills, parenting skills, budgeting skills, anger management, etc.) that will prevent a child from being abused and therefore removed from the home.

Provides a crisis intervention hotline offering 24-hour advocacy for anyone experiencing domestic violence; group counseling; emergency shelter for victims and their children; transportation; children's program; court accompaniment and preparation; community education and prevention. Support offered with victim compensation application through NYS Office of Victim Services.

Prevents, controls, and reduces violent crime, drug abuse, and gang activity in certain high-crime neighborhoods in the city of Buffalo by utilizing a multi-agency approach to law enforcement, crime prevention, and community revitalization. Also provides a neighborhood watch program implemented by community members with a goal of preventing and diligently reporting crime and crime-related issues within their neighborhood.

Provides protective services to adults (18+ yrs) in danger, including investigation and counseling.

Provides Safe Child cards which contain identifying information about the child which is then stored in a statewide database. This information can be used to quickly provide important details to police agencies investigating child disappearances.
