Forensic Program Services | Adult Mental Health Services Clinic Satellite (AMHS)
Provides mental health assessment, ongoing counseling, psychiatric evaluation and medication therapy, mental health and substance use disorder screening, crisis intervention, pre-release treatment planning, post-release referral and case management, and advocacy for incarcerated or recently released individuals presenting with mental health problems, in order to improve adjustments to and functioning within the community, increase completion of linkage with outpatient mental health services, and reduce the relapse into criminal behavior.

An enrichment, leadership, and relationship-building program for parents, children, and families affected by incarceration in Western New York. Offers family recreational activities; support groups and after school programs for children/youth who have a currently or formerly incarcerated parent; service linkage; free Video Visiting allowing children and family members to visit with incarcerated people by video from Osborne's Buffalo site to eight New York State prisons; coordination for mentorship, and technical assistance for organizations that serve families affected by incarceration.

In collaboration with BestSelf Behavioral Health, serves high-risk incarcerated individuals with co-occurring mental illness and substance addiction. Participants work weekly with a case manager and peer support specialist to assist in the development of case plans and can engage in any service offered directly through BestSelf or via linkage to other community-based organizations, including housing, education and employment services, mental health and addiction services, public assistance, and more.
Case management continues for up to one year following release. By building relationships and connecting individuals with supportive services pre-release, the New Dawn Initiative seeks to increase the likelihood individuals will remain engaged in services and successfully re-enter and remain in their communities.
