Provides voluntary and court ordered services to assist families in providing a safe and appropriate living situation. Assists families in providing the basic needs of their children and compliance with court ordered services. Provides a prevention program to avoid out-of-home placement and family disruption in cases of serious youth misbehavior. Offers case management services to the entire family of the at-risk youth.
* Offers a voluntary alternative to the traditional court process for early offenders through the Pre-Trial Diversion Program. Reduction of or dismissal of criminal charge upon successful completion of the three-six month coordinated counseling program. * Provides an alternative to money bail through the Pre-Trial Release Program. Inmates interviewed at the County jail during the five work days. Information verified and provided to the judge for their release decision. Clients are notified of court appearances. Monitored on a weekly basis and referred to supportive services.

Assists people who are facing legal issues due to alcohol or drug abuse by providing them with treatment options and case management services. Individuals are sentenced to this program by a local court as an alternative to incarceration.

Offers an alternative to detention program to reduce the need to place youth in detention and other out of home placement. Provides an intensive 30-day service to the youth as the county, family court, educational systems, and law enforcement work in partnership.

Pre-PINS (Person In Need of Supervision) is a voluntary assessment of behaviors, goals and options for a young person exhibiting an at-risk behavior by their truancy or other actions. By working with the family, this program helps develop a plan that will prevent youth from entering the Diversion Program under the Greene County Probation Department. Participation by the individual is done following a recommendation from a referral source.
Programs offered include licensed after school and recess camp programs, adult and youth tennis, swimming lessons, water aerobics, lap swim, after-school gym programs, toddler programs, Badminton, adult floor hockey, basketball, volleyball, dodgeball, youth basketball lessons, open basketball, and floor hockey. Playground and playmobile (mobile playground) available. Concerts in the parks and various special events offered during the year. Programs for adults with disabilities include social program, crafts, and Special Olympics training in basketball, track, and swimming. Programs for youth with disabilities include social programs, Special Olympics training, basketball, track, and swimming during summer. Services available for dropouts/early school intervention/first offenders. Youth programs provided at 4 community centers/sites. Programs aim to unite community resources, aid disadvantaged youth, and prevent drug abuse. YES program is an employment program for teens/young adults. Resident ID cards issued annually. Provides general mental health counseling services as well as services for individuals with severe mental health illness. Counseling for women experiencing postpartum mood disorder or postpartum depression is available. Provides a 12 week anger management program. Offers specialized services to individuals involved in the criminal justice system, and provides comprehensive mental health and counseling services for individuals with a history of criminal behavior and their family members. Specific services include case management, individual/group counseling, psychiatric assessment/treatment, and treatment alternatives to incarceration. All clients receive individually contracted services. Offers outpatient addiction counseling for drug and alcohol abuse, as well as intensive treatment and treatment for co-occurring disorders and dual diagnosis. Suboxone treatment is available for patients enrolled in counseling. ##REENTRY##

Alternative to incarceration in intensive case management unit; an evaluation and referral service. Individuals may be referred by adolescent diversion court, DWI court, drug court, mental health court, domestic violence court, opioid court, veteran court, or criminal court. ##REENTRY##
Pre and post-diversion program for youth arrested for or accused of harm in Tonawanda. Diverts youth away from Family Court in the Town of Tonawanda, both before and after arrest. Youth are given the option of a Restorative Conference, where the responsible youth and their support people meet with those they’ve harmed and community members to discuss the impact of the crime and what might repair the harm. If the youth fulfill their Conferencing Agreement, their charges are dropped.
Provides services to needy, troubled, and emotionally disturbed youth populations under the age of 21. Community Residence level of care provided for children and youth who are referred through the Office of Mental Health. Juvenile Justice Outreach and case management programs provided for families and youth referred through NCDSS and Niagara County Probation Departments. ##REENTRY##

Albany HANDS is a mental health/criminal justice program that works with homeless and "at risk" individuals, residing in Albany County, who are non-violent offenders living with mental illness and co-occurring substance abuse disorders. Albany HANDS coordinates with local courts and treatment providers to develop service plans that allow individuals to avoid incarceration while they comply with treatment and connect with housing and employment.
