Receives and evaluates consumer complaints, applies protection laws, and mediates during resolutions. Utility Company complaints also appropriate for this office.

Investigates inaccurate scales and petroleum gasoline and oil dispensing devices, missing or incorrect price and quantity displays on prepacked food items and checkout scanners, complaints of water in gasoline, etc.

Inspects and tests weighing and measuring devices. Assures proper package weight and labeling on consumer products, including gasoline quality.

Performs annual inspection and testing of all scales, gas pumps and other weighing or measuring devices used for retail services. Investigates consumer complaints related to improper weighing or measuring.
