WHAT IS GO EMERGENCY RIDE HOMEThe GO ERH program is a program designed to take the potential anxiety out of alternate commutes by providing a resource that ensures you will never be stranded when emergencies occur.WHO IS ELIGIBLE FOR GO EMERGENCY RIDE HOMEGO ERH is for those whose commute does not include single-occupancy vehicles. Eligible commuters include those who travel by: TCAT/bus, carpool/rideshare, bicycle, walking, or any other non-single occupancy driver travel! WHEN SHOULD YOU USE EMERGENCY RIDE HOMEGO ERH is there for those times when unforeseeable situations arise. Examples of when to use GO ERH include: Emergency at home such as fire, flood, or pet emergency You are required to work unscheduled overtime Urgent issue at a child's school or daycare requires you to be there Your planned bus does not arrive, and there is not an alternate bus you can take Your carpool vehicle breaks down, or any of the above mean than your carpool driver cannot bring you home You or a family member becomes sickWHEN NOT TO USE EMERGENCY RIDE HOME.ERH is not applicable to all situations. Some examples of when NOT to use ERH are pre-planned appointments, planned work shifts, running errands, etc. ERH is a program for those unknowns that can leave you stranded from returning home. Applicant pays the difference for repairs beyond $500.Moving Assistance (limited funding)- Partnership with Reuse where CC refers to the ReMap program for store credit to get furniture, household goods, appliances, etc., and Reuse provides access to moving truck, driver and movers for up to 2 hours for one move per year.-Move must be within Tompkins County.-Low-income households (60% AMI guidelines)-The program doesn't have the capacity to go up and down multiple floors when moving items.-All items must be packed and prepped for moving.-Items can be moved to a storage facility rather than apartment, if there is not a new apartment lined up yet-Refer to the Samaritan Center for screening.Tompkins County site for:Fidelis, Child Health Plus, Medicaid, and Medicare applicationsFood Stamps screeningAnnual Winter Event "Share the Warmth": clothing drive gathers items at red collection bins throughout Tompkins County. Seeks donations of clean items in good condition (working zippers, no missing buttons, no spots/stains). Typically late November or Early December.
