This program serves both men and women in Suffolk County who are registered with the One Stop Employment Center and have a confirmed scheduled job interview. ** The 2024-2025 Heating Equipment Repair and Replacement benefit opened on October 1, 2024. ** The Heating Equipment Repair and Replacement benefit can help eligible homeowners repair or replace their furnace, boiler and other direct heating equipment necessary to keep your home's primary heating source working. Benefit amounts are based on the actual cost incurred to repair or replace your furnace, boiler, and/or other essential heating equipment, $4,000 for a repair and $8,000 for a replacement. You may call your HEAP Local District Contact to apply.

The Residential Repair program provides household maintenance assistance to residents age 60 and over who are homeowners, condominium owners, or apartment renters. The service provides assistance with minor home repairs that do not require the skills of a licensed craftsperson. There is no charge for this service, however, client must purchase any materials required. When work is completed, client is given the opportunity to make a voluntary contribution to the program. Hours of service per resident are limited to 16 hours per fiscal year (April 1 - March 31).
