Provides transitional housing for homeless persons and families. Coordinates service delivery through a network of community organizations. Services include transitional housing, case management, and referrals.
Drop-in center for homeless vets. Provides linkage with VA services and assistance with finding housing. Works with homeless and at-risk veterans to help them overcome the barriers that may prevent them from receiving or benefiting from health services. Veterans have access to a shower in the Drop-in Center. Also offers outreach to homeless veterans in shelters, soup kitchens, and on the streets. Outreach workers help establish eligibility for VA medical service and pension, develop appropriate treatment plans, and screen for community placement. Homeless veterans eligible for VA Healthcare may call for availability and screening for VA funded emergency shelter, transitional housing, and HUD section 8 voucher program. Transitional residence for HIV positive persons with an AIDS specific diagnosis. Program is designed to facilitate advancement to permanent and independent housing within a limit of one year's time.
Provides shelter for homeless women and children as well as relief for individuals in domestic violence situations. Offers security 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Stays are generally 30 days with an extension if needed. Arrangements are made for residents to move to transitional living situations in an effort to attain self-sufficiency. Provides transitional housing for women. Services provided to residents include: on-site medical care; classroom for preschool children; certified public school teachers and classroom for school age children; licensed daycare; referrals for case management, food, clothing, and shelter; links with social workers and mental health counselors; and a 12 step recovery program for drug and alcohol abuse. HOURS: Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm; Shelter operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
