Assists individuals in growing and investing in their communities by providing lending capital, training, consulting, technical assistance, seminars, workshops, and low-cost business rental space to new and existing businesses that would otherwise lack access to these services. Assists area residents in developing asset based thinking by providing financial literacy training, basic budgeting, and home appliance loans to combat predatory lenders. Loan programs and Cottage Industry Assistance Program target low to moderate income existing and prospective individuals. Chautauqua Microenterprise Loan Fund and the Women and Minority Microenterprise Loan Fund Programs help small businesses by providing small business start up and expansion loans. The small business incubator offers small businesses an opportunity to grow and stabilize with subsidies around rent, business services, and technical assistance. Serves as a Warming Center during times of excessive cold and as a Cooling Center during times of excessive heat. Always call ahead to make sure a Warming/Cooling Center is open before going there.

A one-stop center for health and social services with the goal of improving quality of life for residents of Niagara Falls living under the poverty line by increasing access to support resources and bringing human service providers together in a central location. Services available at Daybreak include shower and laundry facilities, homeless outreach/case management, housing related coordinated entry, forms/application assistance, rent payment assistance (currently unavailable), security deposit payment assistance (currently unavailable), and emergency housing vouchers for those who are selected via lottery from NYS Homes and Community Renewal. Provides access to a computer room, printer, office space, and technology for tele-health and other virtual services. Free haircuts available for those in need every 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Monday of each month, 10am-12 noon; appointments strongly encouraged. Also provides access to housing resources within the WNY Continuum of Care: a collaborative program that provides a full range of emergency, transitional, and permanent housing for homeless persons. The team at Daybreak helps households at risk of homelessness or housing instability by providing services such as housing referrals, rental arrears, utility arrears, and affordable housing recommendations. Additionally, a Community Health Nurse from Mount St. Mary’s Hospital is present at Daybreak to provide free health and wellness guidance to at-risk individuals. The Nurse acts as a personal health care coordinator for guests by helping to monitor chronic health problems, offering personalized guidance, giving referrals to appropriate health care providers and resources, and coordinating vaccines, flu shots, and health screenings through Mount St. Mary’s and the Niagara County Health Department.

Apartments are in a suburban setting/school zone and are intended for single people, couples, and young families. Features include professional on-site management, kitchen with stainless steel appliances, secure entrance with intercoms, security cameras, grab bars in bathrooms, sprinkler system, on-site laundry facilities, central air conditioning, close proximity (two blocks) from a major bus route, and smoke-free living. Tenants may have one small pet. Some apartments are designed for people who are mobility and vision/hearing impaired; the remaining apartments are handicapped adaptable.
