The Housing programs help people with a variety of housing goals and needs. For some clients, keeping their home and avoiding foreclosure is a challenge. We can help via our foreclosure prevention counseling, where we look for programs that help people keep their homes. Others may be preparing to buy a home for the first time, and we can help them too with our pre-purchase counseling and Essentials for Buying your First Home program. We also offer reverse mortgage counseling, rental counseling, and a few other services, programs, and educational opportunities.

Provides services to help individuals make better decisions about their finances and housing finances and to help others who need help with debt or credit card problems. Services include, debt management, credit counseling, housing counseling, credit card debt, and personal finances.

Offers a program that is only available to individuals and families that are currently in the mortgage process with a lender. Services include education and support program designed to assist first time home-buyers to overcome barriers to, and become prepared for, homeownership. Classes are offered over consecutive weeks, or one full day.

Administers a variety of programs to promote affordable housing and community development statewide.

Offers a nine hour education and support program, for a fee, that is designed to assist first time home-buyers to overcome barriers and become prepared for homeownership. The classes meet one night per month and feature local experts involved in the home buying process. Also offers pre-purchase counseling and grant eligibility and education for no fee.

Provides help to low and moderate income residents on the North Fork of Eastern Long Island acquire affordable housing. Services offered are as follows: referral assistance and information; mortgage acquisition and foreclosure assistance; housing rehabilitation assistance; subsidized housing assistance; loan/grant application assistance; advocacy and counseling; fair housing law assistance; health, safety violations and code enforcement; weatherization referrals; utility payment assistance; legal referrals.

Information, Counseling, and Referrals to persons seeking help to resolve financial problems and manage their money more effectively. In addition, FCA provides housing, foreclosure, reverse mortgage, and property tax exemption. FCA also does income tax preparation for low-income seniors. The Senior Financial Counseling Program also offers financial paper management for seniors who need help organizing their mail and bills, writing out checks.

Casa Salva provides temporary housing to homeless survivors of victims of domestic violence and their families fleeing from abusive relationships. Assists individuals to secure housing and provide a rent subsidy for a time-limited basis, with the goal of achieving housing stability and self-sufficiency.
