Provides comprehensive housing counseling services to residents free of charge.

Offers first time homebuyers assistance to cover down payment and/or closing costs plus rehabilitation expenses. Also offers pre-purchase and post-purchase education, as well as homeownership counseling.

Provides prepurchase/first time homebuyers counseling, default delinquency counseling, budget counseling, housing assistance (Section 8 eligible), landlord/tenant assistance, reverse mortgage counseling (senior program) and referrals to other housing and non-housing agencies.

Provides subsidized rental assistance, first time home buyers incentive programs, fair housing opportunities and facilitates the housing discrimination complaint process. Provides home ownership assistance for low-moderate income families, offers senior housing information and aid with reverse mortgages, nursing home and hospital assistance, counseling for home buyers, homeowners and tenants, home rehabilitation funds and block grants to communities for economic development and job creation, lead based paint abatement, and Indian housing information.

Provides intervention on behalf of tenants to prevent homelessness and to assist those who are homeless. This includes assistance in finding affordable housing, advocacy and dispute resolution in landlord/tenant matters, assist tenants in money management and household budgeting. Referrals are made to programs such as: HEAP, SECTION 8, Social Services, and Public Housing. Assistance with applications to these programs are provided, particularly, for those with language and cultural barriers.

Provides housing counseling assistance in resolving housing issues and locating affordable housing for individuals and families. Offers assistance with landlord/tenant crises, evictions, foreclosure prevention services, mortgage default and homelessness. Provides advocacy, assistance with transition to permanent housing, legal advice and referrals to appropriate federal housing programs.

Offers a Home Buyer Education Course covering topics such as: household budgeting, credit and savings management, home inspections and the purchase process. Families who successfully complete this course may also be eligible for grants and other assistance for purchasing a home.

Offers credit counseling and financial advise toward the goal of homeownership. Reverse mortgage information available, foreclosure counseling, enolization and other energy programs. Home repair or modification grants for low income elderly or people with disabilities.

Individual or group counseling to educate sonsumers with information pertaining to conventional and government assisted mortgages.

Provides educational programs, outreach activities, public presentations and services to increase community awareness of fair housing issues, advocacy on homelessness prevention, predatory lending. Fair housing laws can protect many residents from illegal discrimination in obtaining housing.

HUD certified counselors provide free foreclosure prevention counseling. The counselors complete a full assessment of the situation and intervene with banks and mortgage companies to negotiate modification and avoid the loss of the home. Appointments or walk in.

Project Veterans' Independence is a Catholic Charities program partnership with the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Our goal is to place homeless veterans into permanent housing and help them live independently within their communities while offering counseling and access to support services. Supportive case management, peer-to-peer support groups and crisis intervention services are available to all clients.

A certified Hud-housing agency that provides tenant assistance, eviction prevention, home ownership counseling, landlord-tenant mediation, foreclosure counseling, first time home buyer counseling, reverse mortgage counseling, and housing court assistance. A loan/grant program is in place to assist with home improvement, weatherization and applications for funding for other housing-related services.
