Free meals are provided to all children at approved sites in areas with significant concentrations of low income children. The Youth Bureau operates two types of sites, open sites and closed enrolled sites in various towns in Essex County.

Summer EBT Food Benefits - New York State

Helps low-income families with school-age children buy groceries during the summer when their children may not have access to school meals. Families will get $120 in food benefits for each eligible child. Families will receive Summer EBT food benefits for their eligible children on an EBT card, which can be used to buy food like fruits, vegetables, meat, whole grains, and dairy at authorized retail food stores, farmers' markets, and anywhere else SNAP is accepted. Unused Summer EBT benefits expire and are removed from the EBT card 122 days from the date they are issued; families should use their benefits soon after they are received.
