Small Repair Program: up to 35 hours per household per year of health and safety-related maintenance and small repair services to low-income elderly (60+), disabled people, and single heads of household with dependents, all eligible clients must own the home they live in. who own the home they live in. INHS pays for labor, and in many cases also pays for materials. Low-income elderly receive priority. Veterans with service-related disabilities are also eligible at higher income levels.Home Rehabilitation: Access to Home Rehabilitation: makes home alterations to help low-to-moderate income, disabled and/or frail elderly homeowners avoid institutional care. Modifications can include ramps, handicap accessible kitchens and bathrooms, widened doorways for wheelchairs and stair and platform lifts. Veterans with service-related disabilities are also eligible at higher income levels. Available throughout Tompkins County, including the City of Ithaca. NYS Rehabilitation: forgivable or due on sale loans paying up to the full cost of major housing repair/rehabilitation projects such as new wells, septic systems, roofs, weatherization, electrical and plumbing.
