Hofstra University is an approved provider organization (approval number NYPO-100009) in the New York Insurance Department Continuing Education Program. The Insurance Law of 1992 requires that agents, brokers and consultants satisfactorily complete 15 credits of continuing education during each biennial licensing period. Hofstra offers a variety of courses and customized training programs. Hofstra Continuing Education also offers Off Campus Programs which will provide experienced instructors at your office locations. We offer a wide variety of off campus instruction including Pre-License instruction for members of your staff who are anxious to obtain their license and learn the most important aspects of Property & Casualty Insurance including a tried and true method for passing the New York state license exam. Sample course offerings include: Continuing Education (CE) - Choose from a wide variety of subjects (up to 15 credits each) - Available at your office location; New York State Required 90-Hour Insurance Brokers and Agents Qualifying Course; Uniquely designed Property & Casualty Cram Course for agents and brokers who are exempt from the 90-hour course. Offers a broad range of courses, certificates, lectures and events to the Long Island and surrounding communities. Programs are designed for diverse audiences: adult and youth, professional and novice. Continuing education offers educational opportunities for adults whether you’re interested in updating your skills, begin a new career or start your own business, you’re sure to find something that captures your interest. Summer Camps, Youth and Precollegiate Programs are offered to children in various areas of interest and sports. Courses are offered on-site, in a traditional online format, and through Zoom.
